OMG bent body! i cant take it anymore!!!! this is madness!!! MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! alpha stage! no room for mistakes!!!!!! graphics cant get better ever!!! pong is is good as it ever gets, everything is a lie!!!!

no on for the real subject i think the game looks amazing and seeing there actually building a copy for pc this time and doing away with those boot dragging consoles that handicapp most of our games this should be amazing

Basically already saying you expect it to suck. It's alpha, to see an issue in a game that won't be out for another half a year, is pretty normal. And to see that animation in a film that you think is staged, says to me that it isn't, because obviously not everything was perfect.

hell you could even see the flashing "W" on screen for the quicktime event dragging the fallen soldier out of a doorway... thats recorded gameplay footage, not cutscenes.

I think I've never seen any video from Battlefield 2+ (upper then) that was not gameplay recorded/based, even the startup video from BF2 was actual gameplay.
That being said I wish this game will blow me away, just like the audio of BF:BC2 did the first time I tried the game beta in multi-player

well you can easily add that any time on a cgi.. still, we really cant judge anything yet.

I on the other hand thinks its all one whole in game cutsecene and not gameplay yet.. but still uses actual gameplay graphics. bioshock infinite 'gameplay' footage comes in to mind.

Caleb's screenshot post looks more like the actual legit in game footage to me (evidenced by that character model, you just wont let that scene happen on a cutscene / cg)

But cgi / in game cutscene or not, I dont care. It still is and will be a great game that would put the nail in the coffin for the mw series and have crysis2 catch dust on the shelf (or hardrive)

For where the games at now. It looks SICK. I hope they have made it a bit more realistic, and fixed dolphin divers and bunny hoppers in MP.

Looks great for a Alpha Stage build.

Man people need to chillax a bit. The game is still unpolished at this stage, and from what I can see from the trailer it definitely looks good. Can't quite compare it to Crysis 2 yet, I've just downloaded the demo but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. (Hope it looks better than the dx9 leaked version). Whichever one turns out better though, it's the PC gaming scene which truly wins.

Oh, and here's a stress busting exercise to help you guys out.

I hear people say that, just like a lot of peopel tossed around WoW Killer. But odds are, it just isn't true. And I'm not saying that even means anything about BF3 in any way. It's that, most of the people I know that play CoD own a 360, thats the first online MP FPS they ever played, they think that beyond that, if they venture out of their CoD continent they will fall off the world.

Now that doesn't mean that BF3 won't pick up some of these CoD players, but most of them I hear, the first thing they say is, "I don't like vehicles". You can say, "well you haven't tried it have you?". But you will just get that response right back basically. I have got 1 person to convert, it just so happens I built him a computer though, he was a consoler before. And he barely uses vehicles, and he thinks just having them there makes it more epic, but his old CoD pals won't even listen to him. Brainwashed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Crysis 2 MP demo still really doesn't look that great sadly, I'd say BC2 looks better... kind of a step backward from Crysis 1.

I think its amazing that even a pre-alpha build, being that footage; was run on a single Geforce 580 card.

Also compare the model I marked on the sshot attached with the original posters screenshots...

Start Bad Company 2 and imagine a +10% increase in overall quality.

Maybe if you want to get wet on hyped by pre release movies but absolutely NOT if you want to see how will the actual game look like.

I'm a huge fan of BF2 and I cant wait for this but really guys it's just gonna be another shooter that will look good but It wont suddenly reinvent how computers work and turn it into a movie quality video game.

they've already shown other instances of the engine and some of the middleware in it, like the radiosity that intel themselves literally demoed live. there's pictures from nvidia of their new aa technique being demoed in engine.

it's all pretty obviously in engine and working.

better yet i've beaten mw2 and everything within that video happened in game except with arguably less dramatic camera angles because it was from your pov. that entire video could pretty much be recreated by some guy with fraps and some spare time.
