laptop with warranty or better laptop without warranty ?

I ha e a little dilema here.
HP DM4 laptop comes at 699 and a 12 month warranty.
It has a 2.2 i5, 4gb, 500gb and generic gfx.

Samsung QX410 is a high end model with a geforce, 2.6 cpu,bt, wimax etc. same price as refurb but no warranty.

Never had a laptop before.
Is it wise buying the samsung ?

Personally I think its pretty wise to go with a warranty. Its not always easy to take apart a laptop and change out parts like with a desktop.

Can't say I know anything about Samsung laptops, and I've heard mixed feelings on HPs. If you get a good deal though. Why not?

I got a 4 year warranty + accidental damage protection on my old dell from 05. Had one of the fans die on me, twice. They came out to my house and fixed it up for me. After my warranty expired I've been doing the work on it myself though. Just changing fans and lcd though, not pulling out components.

What are you going to be using it for?

Do you mean literally no warranty at all, or simply a standard one year warranty?

If it's the one year, then get the Samsung, it's a good brand.

If it's no warranty, then steer clear!

The dm4 hp is 1 year international including pickup.
The samsung has nothing but is like new.

we're all going to tell you to get a warranty, but that doesnt mean the one you've suggested is a good buy.

what do you need the laptop to do, i'm sure TPU'ers can find you a better deal.

Heavy firefox use and portability. Im talking about 25 tabs at a time and good milti tasking ability on a wondows enviorment.
Up to 14", must have a metal aluminum build ! No plastic laptops

any gaming needs? firefox w/ 30 tabs really just means 2GB+ of ram, thats actually pretty light on hardware (trust me, i do it too)

Buying a laptop without a warranty is gambling with your money. If it breaks down (and I don't mean a dead HDD or a dead stick of RAM), you're pretty much down to either paying far too much for repairs, or getting a new one. Buy a machine with warranty, and 1 year is pretty short too.

Ill make it more clear.
The samsung does have a warranty but only in america. I would have to ship the.computer to samsung if something happens.
The hp has an international warranty that is supported in my country so its very comfortable.

I guess the dm4 is the machine for me.
