GTX 560 ti SLI vs GTX 580

I am now having issues with my GTX 590 fragmenting heavily on certain games. Despite low temps(30-50C low/high). EVGA won't take my S/N as they say it's registered to someone else, and they want full photo's of the card front and back for proof the card is actually what I say it is. However I am thinking the original point of sale should be held responsible for passing a used product off as new...

EVGA says the card's S/N is registered to another person and was purchased from EVGA.com's store. Not sure what to do, but I want to take it the place I got it from and make them fix it, as I think it's more likely they re-sold a used product as new.


TLDR;

Issues -- 2D Surround reboots the computer, GPU Driver stops responding repeatedly, and Fragments during some games.

S/N already registered with EVGA by someone else? make original seller pay/replace?

Did you try taking full photo's of the card? Contact the business/person you bought it from?

I was the original purchaser from Microcenter here in Atlanta. I have receipts with my name on them, and ID to prove so. I called into to the Marietta store, they told me to come in and they would rma it to EVGA and I could get store credit. When I arrived later that day, the manager on duty told me it wasn't his problem because I was outside my 30 days and had no way to prove it was there fault. I promptly recited the name of the manager I spoke with and what she told me. To which he called said manager who denied ever talking to me. I then called the other store in the Metro area to see if I had made a simple mistake and called the other store to find someone to corroborate my story, as someone had told me they would resolve it. After leaving the...Western store, and sitting on hold the entire time, arriving at the Eastern store, I asked to speak with a manager, and went down the story again. The manager said she understood my plight, and gave me store credit for the entire original purchase, to which I bought a GTX 580 and a 27inch LED panel.

TLDR: If you have to choose between Electronics store in the Altanta area, go to the store in Duluth on the east side. They know how to treat a customer.

Going to have to put any plans for SLI on hold, my crappy board's design has the sata ports right where the second gpu would be.

odd, most have the sata's sideways these days. I wonder why msi put them verticle.

mine are also right where the second card is but they're sideways so its a non-issue.

Went with a Zotac AMP Edition GTX 580, works like a champ. Bought the 2 year replacement warranty just because Micro center helped me out, despite being outside 30 days.
