I feel that overclocking in a crossfire or SLI setup causes more troubles than anything, come on those who have crossfire/SLI or even a **90/*90 series board really have no need to overclock in all honesty

My crossfire 7950's are currently Overclocked to 1100/1500 @ 1.15v :). GRAPHICS SCORE in 3dmark11 went from stock crossfire @ 800/1250 = around 13200~, overclocked cards are around a 15650 graphics score. The potential overclock on these cards are fantastic, what a performance boost from my single 6950.

As for the issues with crossfire: i have experienced none so far, testing:

3dmark vantage, 3dmark 11, Crysis 2(5760x1080), Crysis 2 benchmark, unigine (5760x1080), BF3 (5760x1080). All settings, maxed. When i say maxed, i mean 4x msaa w/ HBAO lighting, everything. I couldn't be happier.... unlesss gk110's came out tomorrow.

I just read stuff about the Nvidia 680's ADAPTIVE V-Sync, that stuff looks awesome...

Do you guys think it's worth gettin it instead of the 7970 ?

Tough call. In general the 680 outperforms the 7970 with lower power consumption. However, you can mine with the 7970 while not gaming and pay off your electric bill.

:rockout::rockout: WHAT on tpu, why use the regular 60FPS when 160 is within reach:p

ive crossfired an odd couple, 5870+5850 refs, and waterblocked em and ive found that the best way to run them is speed sync'd ,for sure as if the difference in clocks is too high you get micro stutter creeping in, ive both oc'd to 1000 core, requireing a fairley average 1200mem oc to be stable and 1.288 volts but they are quite bullet proof at that ,im not going to say mine never crashes but its mostly my latest cpu tweek over my now stable and no point messin gpu oc :D and it gets better and better cat 12.4 brought decent, high IQ gameing performance improvements with morpho on:D

i had xfired 3870's too and after the initial launch jitters they became a good gfx partnering so id go 7870's in xfire ,yeh thats right i said it 7870's it was me , more then enough power ,and the right price, should out perform a 680 some ways, id have to guess that config would last a while too, a Gtx 680 is tempting though, but dual 7870s ftw
