Help with watercooling please.

Its not possible with normal fittings.

I want to mount the rad on top of the case and if i use normal fittings i need the rad to be very high from the case to make a nice bend and the tubes go in to the case on the top.
These allows me to place the rad 5/7cm above the case instead of +10cm.

well as long as you dont use too many it should be fine. Those fittings look to be a lot less restrictive than the plastic ones.

The bitspower stuff is great.

Restriction is almost completely negligible.

It's a nice smooth transition and has a nice large I.D. Not at all like the old Nylon 90 degree fittings.

Aspire, you've given me more reason to use 90 degree barb. And, I'm with ya, Bitpower is a great company. Very happy with their stuff! :toast:

Yes the way you have it would probably be the easiest -

RES >> PUMP >> CPU >> RAD

Or you could go -

RES >> PUMP >> RAD >> CPU

as long as the res is directly before the pump you will be OK

Save for reservoir feeding the pump, loop order is completely arbitrary.

Makes no real difference as the liquid moves so fast through the loop that there is only a degree or so difference from the hottest and coldest points.

Arrange it so you have the shortest tubing runs, an you'll be golden.

Less hose = less travel path = less pressure loss afaik.
And the less pressure the pump has to create, the less heat it dumps.

The positioning of pump/res/rad/block aren't all that important if you go for long time burn-in temperature marks, since the water will get to about the same saturation temperature regardless.

If you're concerned about real life performance, putting the rad before the block *might* save you a tiny bit.

I have to modify my case so i can set it up the way i want. So it will be a few days before i get everything up and running.

Be careful with using those fittings on your block... they look like the threading is too short or something... might leak - i have the same block and when i tried to use custom fittings in stead of the plastic ones that came with my block, they leaked all over my case...

An out of the case leaktest is highly advised indeed

I will be careful.

I think your problem was that the fitting was a bit to wide to fully screw it in to the block. So the seal would not come down all the way to the block. I tested with putting the seal very loose on the threads and when i unscrewed it, the seal was compressed on to the fitting. So i think it made good contact.

I will fit everything in the case to make the tubing the right size then i will take everything out and test it outside the case for a while.

You are correct on the fact that these fittings have short thread on them. Only have to turn them 3 to 4 times and they are in.
But the thread should not make a difference.
