Time for a companion thread to the mouse one. ;)

Mine is the good ol' IBM Model M. It's an IBM made in America model from 1989 with the awesome drain chutes.

It doesn't have N-key rollover. You press more than 2 keys and it beeps. It needs a PS/2-> USB converter (active, not passive, I use this:

I've been told it's bad for gaming. I've been told I should get a more modern keyboard. No. I have tried. Nothing beats this for me, even if they supposedly do in specs. It's about the FEEL man. The FEEL! Nothing matches the buckling spring mechanism keyswitch. Not even cherry greens. Not that I've found at any rate.

What do you use?

I have a Model M as well that I use, but it's a Lexmark-made 1994 one. Still damn fine :toast:
For a 20 year old keyboard it's in great shape...missing the keycap on the F1 key, but it was cheap and awesome to type on.

I actually know a place you can get keycaps for individual keys on those for about 0.50... problem is it has a shipping minimum price of like $4.00 or something, so it doesn't really make much sense. If you ever need one though and I'm ordering something else there, let me know and I'll throw one in for you for the 50cents plus actual first class postage, hehe.

The lexmarks are still well made beasts though. Doesn't surprise me it's still kicking around. :)

Could you LMK where that is? I don't think spending $4.5 is worth it for a single cap, but if I buy some more then it might be worth it :)
And yeah, it really is a great keyboard to type on. Ever so much better than the regular USB Lenovo keyboard I also have. Although the Lenovo one is labeled in Russian, which is cool :D

Yeah, it's in the US but it looks like that'll work for you:

http://www.clickykeyboards.com/index.cfm/fa/categories.main/parentcat/10191

Problem I see, is since last time I checked he appears to have fixed the shipping thing, but added a minimum order of $10. You might try contacting him direct for an order.

EDIT: Keycap prices were raised slightly too, it looks like, but still not awful. Pretty normal when these things are getting thrown away often and no more of them made... the market only gets more and more rare/expensive. :)

I'm using a compact keyboard, Riitek RT-MWK08. It is wireless, but not a Bluetooth, which means that it can be used in the BIOS.

Still sporting a Logitech G15 I bought on fleabay used around 5 years ago. Has a lot of wear but still works great. Been thinking about replacing it for some time now. I don't need the screen or half the extra buttons beyond media buttons.

Not sure I'm interested in mechanical switches as I need a quiet keyboard or the missus may go crazy. I prefer to assist with that in other methods.

I'm using the Gigabyte Osmium I won from TPU in the summer. I really like it. Cherry MX Brown switches are really nice. Much better than the Razer switches in my girlfriend's keyboard.

my first gaming keyboard…and my love one!
Thermaltake Knucker… Plunger keyboard, feels like a mech one, but it more affordable thant the mech's,

The old ones were:
Microsoft Curve 3000 wired, still have it at work, comfortable,
Microsoft wireless 2000, pretty bad quality, batery hungry b*tch,

Dell Oem from an XPS, pretty comfortable, pretty solid, pretty one, I couldn't remember the model, unfortunately it got lost during the trip when I move on from San Diego CA to San Jose Costa Rica,

I have had a couple more nut I can't remember the exact model, like the wireless Logitech combo I had at home,

regards,
