I would need to remove the shield generator and scanner. I don't like leaving myself defenseless and collecting data isn't always a bad thing. I think that would be 8+8+4+4+2, which would be 26.

There is a very expensive shield generator that uses a class 2 slot instead of class 3, so you could optimize it but, at a cost.

Keep a eye open for those CC's as you make a few mission with those even more with a few friends.

Good to hear, 0 throttling your ship will or should take no damage, well as for interdiction's it's either just boost away and use chaffs but surly you know that by now.

I usually can evade the interdiction without getting pulled out, but yeah, I learned real quick that boosting and "evasive maneuvers" were the way to go if they're successful.

I just allow it lol, some times they get away with it and that means hull damage. Feels easier and faster to just allow and just zoom off.

Right now I want to say the most expensive hop in my journey is 150k worth of cargo for about a 18k return iirc. I have about 350k in assets right now. I'm thinking about trying to work towards a Type 6 as 1m credits seems to be a realistic goal to get to with the Adder unless I manage to find a route that twice as profitable than what I'm doing now which might be hard to find.

I'm looking forward to the 1.3 and new missions. Been working my way up through the military ranks with the Feds.

I should add I'm still loving combat in this game. Granted my limited time and skills probably are my biggest factor here, so I'm still learning and enjoying.

I'm hoping for more combat-oriented CG's soon too. I don't think I'll be trying 1.3 beta just because I really don't have the time to dedicate to trying things out and reporting them. But still looking forward each update as Elite unfolds.

Well I'm open to defecting...I just figured I was in their space for Ceti, and I had good standings from all the crap I did while starting in Cosi so I might as well keep pushing so when I'm ready for a new, big, badass ship I'll have the rank.

At this time i am hitting around 800k profit per 4 jumps, and thats just for 372 units and cannot wait till i can afford the 256 cargo as mine will to about 500. I will say get some good practice in with that Type 7 as you will need it for the type 9 and upgrades don't come cheap.

Very good point, it also costs 1/3 as much as the Type 6 and will earn me more thanks to the cargo space which is my biggest limiting factor right now. I might consider that as I can already afford it, I just want to make sure I have enough credits for trading and upgrading it after I buy it. I like the idea of the type 6 because it's the largest vessel that can dock at an outpost, but the Cobra seems like a good replacement for Adder, which was a good step up at the time but is becoming less practical for my trading capacity as I need to trade high-value items now for it to be on the very profitable side. It also looks like it can go faster as well, so I may do a couple more trade runs before getting it as it looks like a solid upgrade prior to something a big bigger.

Side note: I take it that most people have more than one ship once they get going? One for trading and one for fighting? I don't like the idea of fighting with the same ship I trade with.

@Aquinus sorry I didn't want to quote the entire post on mobile. IMO the cobra is a solid upgrade. Much tougher hull and better hardpoints so you can defend better.

I do use more than one ship, but I mostly do bounty hunting so I don't usually have more than one ship. When I am hunting and trading I do though. A type 7 is useless for combat. I do think a cobra could be a viable rares trader and (at least against NPCs) be good at combat.

Also, the Python can dock at outposts and does 232 cargo IIRC so there is one more ship after the type 6.

I worked my way up to a Type 6 with a Cobra via trading and using 60 storage. I also ran Solo and no shields a couple of times too (more dangerous to do now, but more fun with the risk! ), but also ran open and had some fun. The nice thing was that I kept on some weapons so I could and did defend myself effectively and even did some light-duty bounty hunting while trading to break up the monotony. The Type-6 is a pig for its size, and has plenty of storage, I never fly mine anymore though...

I have more than one ship and regret selling my original Sidey and Freagle. Will be buying them back for future random flights/skirmishes/etc. Right now I'm saving up by using my Cobra in combat to buy and build up a combat ready Viper!

A bunch of Community Challenges popped up today and believe only one is doable which is the top one which requires you to explore.

So got me ASP back after making 40 mill over the last few days with a fuel scoop which brings in about 700-800 ton\s and left my T9 for another day. Could not bring my self to sell it a 7.5m loss.
