he might as well wait for the 6750 and 6770 due in about 2-3 weeks since from what i know the 6750 should be around 5830 to slight slower then a 5850 and use 120w nearly have the draw of a 1gig 460 in that senario he can keep his psu as the 6700 series is suppose to be direct competition to the gtx 460 768/1gig

also wait what 3x 1024 ram wtf... im just gonna let others handle this im not in the mood to correct some the things i see wrong in this situation

Igorius,

This is a straightforward situation, if you've got 1x4850 already it only makes sense to buy another if you've got a CF motherboard already. You will not only be saving money but you'll get similar or better performance than the 1x5850. Luckily for you I've already done the homework and did an analysis a few months ago so I can prove that what I say is correct. I was in the same situation as you :)

Also, I would like to add that a single 5850 is faster than the GTX460 1GB, in some cases the GTX460 1GB can be slower than the 5830.

I've got an Asus M3A78-T motherboard: http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=PaJTmB4aZ9WAYnM6 with expansion slots - 3xPCIe x16 (Support PCIe 2.0/1.0 Architecture) (Dual x8 or Dual x16/x4; Triple x8/x4/x8).

So I'll probably take the second HD4850 or I'll wait for the release of HD6000 series - maybe the prices will fall so that the best choice will be a single card HD5850 or HD6770(?). Do you understand me?

I don't want to buy GTX at all.

again 6750 6770 are to compete with the gtx 460 if your already gonna shell out for a 460 you can already afford a 6700 on release day

6700 suppose to be around 5800 performance lvls 6750 = 5830 6770= 5850/5870 somewhere in between from the looks

If you're not willing to change your LCD anytime soon, cards like 5850 performance wise will be excellent for resolution like 1680x1050.

So you'll wait for a video card (HD6000) which might take weeks or months even though we know nothing about its performance, there is no benchmarks for it, it could be a coaster for all we know. The only thing that we know for sure is on its release it's going to be grossly expensive for a few months until the HD 6000 series becomes established.

yea alright heres the kicker almost everything in a PC uses the 12v rails now so cpu gpus etc 125 + 150 +150 before overclocking = 425w just from 3 parts at full load before overclocking the sonic card is overclocked of course from the factory so yea id wait and see what the 6000 series brings

Buying Corsair's PSU is always a good idea. :)
But you can check the PSU's from be quiet!. They are very silent and efficient.

You can check CoolerMaster. Their Silent Pro line is quite good. AFAIK it has single +12V rail.
I've had Silent Pro 700W and it was pretty good.

EDIT:
Cooler Master Silent Pro M700W [RS700-AMBAD3-EU]

I had this one. 50A on single +12V rail and it is really quiet.
It was powering my Q9550@3,8GHz and Radeon 4870X2 without any problems at all.

But this XFX 650W XXX is modular and this power supply is manufactured by Seasonic. The TX650 is also made by Seasonic. They're better PSUs than Cooler Master, I think :)

UP
XFX 650W XXX and Corsair TX650 - one line 12V=52A=max.624W
These are better power supplies than CM Silent Pro M700W, I think :)

Cooler Master also is modular.
Well, what can I say - I can recommend this PSU as I owned it and had an opportunity to test it.
I've never had an XFX PSU, so all I can say is what people say on the net.

And Corsair has a longer warranty - 60 months. Cooler Master has only 36 months.
But Corsair has non-detachable cables. :(
Difficult choice.

I would go with a single card solution as there are no possibilities that the game (a poor console port) you choose may in the future not agree with CF.

What also means you will not have to purchase a new power supply.

Choose either the 460 or the 5850 with the 460 being the best bang for buck.

Although as stated better OC with the 5850 if you are in to overclocking.

Winter is coming in Poland... it can get cold. And electricity is cheap due to the cheap coal and nuclear. Therefore, go crossfire 4850 to keep you warm in the winter.

If summer was coming, I would say ditch the 4850 and get a 5850 or GTX460. Don't concern yourself with +/-5% performance. They are essentially equal cards. Get what you prefer, for features, price and freebies in your market.

IF you already have a 4850 and can get a good deal on another one that is not a bad route to take.

I still run 4850's in crossfire in my 2nd rig paired with a Q6600 @ 3.6 and it still plays anything I throw at it great.

I wouldn't suggest buying two 4850's at this point, but buying a 2nd one to compliment one you already have, sure.

The 4850 really does not put out all that much heat. It has a reputation as a card that runs hot but that is because they were primarily sold with single-slot heat-sinks.

The card running hot due to using a tiny heatink is a completely separate and mostly unrelated issue to how much heat the card transfers into the air. In most cases a card with a larger heatsink that ran cooler would actually result in more heat output as the larger heatsink would be more efficient at transferring that heat into the air.

The hot card is Radeon HD4890. My card isn't hot - I've got Palit sonic - it is not a hot card!

Winter in Poland isn't as cool as you think. The average January temperature is around -5 degrees Celsius. Is it cold? Maybe in California...

and more that ram works betters in pairs 3x 1gb just isnt as good as 2x1 2x512 for the same amount or better yet a 4th stick for 4gigs true dual channel tends to be a bit better granted 3 sticks can now run dual channel on AMD its not really to my liking
