Here's a benchie done by wizzard just recently on the evga 9600gt: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GeForce_9600_GT_SSC/20.html

I just looked at the review and as impressive as it is I didn't see any over clocked version of the 9600 GT beating the 8800 GT
Maybe not, but the difference between them is so little it seems like it could be overtaken with some oc.

I am now considering the 8800gs based on W1zzard's review on it.
edit: nm, the 384mb does suffer at 1680x1050

Guess what, I cannot have a dual slot cooler which is as long as the card. It blocks my sata ports then.
I could take the plastic out of the MSI, but the plastic is joined to the heatsink.
return it and get this one it won't block the slot as is a great card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261002
