Anyone else seeing driver stability problems with latest version 352.86?

Ye, same here. Playing Witcher 3 with 350.12 GTAV driver, and have exactly same average ~50 fps @ultra, as w/ 352.86 "special" Witcher 3 Game Ready driver. GTX 970. lal.

The optimisations were more for sli imo there was no sli support when the game was first released

If I am not mistaken of NVIDIA's pattern, they probably release it near Batman: Arkham Knight release date as another Game Ready driver or on the day GTX 980 Ti is available in stores. Unless there is a hotfix, which can be released any time.

Sometimes if not most of the times the best driver for a game I am playing is actually the driver released before the Game Ready one. It is a matter of finding the best driver for the best card for certain games, no? Whatever works best for us, even if it is not the most recent. And NVIDIA today is not NVIDIA of old. I remember downloading every new drivers for my GeForce 3 Ti and can install and use them to play many games without even have to worry about problems. How I miss those days...

i dont know if somebody experience this but my gtx 750ti seems running hotter in 352.86 compare to 350.12 driver. i dont play gta anyway so running 350.12

Reverted to 350.12 version of graphics driver but kept newer PhysX version from the latest driver package, also tried to keep newer version of nvidia audio but audio driver reinstalled itself from windows update upon obligatory restart. I bet driver installer was not made for these kind of partial back and forth installs.

I have a kepler og Titan and a maxwell Titan X. I'm not having any desktop issues. But all the gaming problems only happen with the X installed. I even tried reflashing the X with higher voltages while underclocking it. Personally, I think the maxwell part of the driver is busted, or maxwell has a design flaw. I even tried a second Titan X card, same exact result. Another poster on the GF forum tried 3 different 980 cards. The kepler og Titan is rock solid when installed. I underclocked and overvolted both the cpu+system ram to rule them out. Even swapped ram around, and installed a new beefy psu. I blew days debugging, it has to do with maxwell somehow. I gave up. I might even try a Radeon card next time because of this, and I've had nothing but nvidia since the TNT.

True. For new SLI and 3D profiles. 350.12 driver doesn't have SLI TW3 profile. Just the 352.86.

Hence it isnt a bigdeal for you folk who are running with single GPUs . you can pretty much shout about how you are running the game silky smooth on 253.68 all you want and talk about rolling back because youre having problems with 253.86 and how the older driver still performs quite well.

there is no real option for people on SLi unless they run with SLi disabled till Nvidia release new Sli Profiles.

@xorbe it sounds like you've really done alot of investigating. My money tho is on a different conclusion. I think Maxwell is fine, just shitty drivers being written for Maxwell lately.

Maybe they just spending more time with Win10 just like AMD seem to be, what i see bad here's is that they passed MS QC and should of been released as beta.

I had a few problems and then I uninstalled Experience. All my problems went away! With my 980 I use 344.11 release. Completely stable with the games I use.

I sure hope so, and that they fix the issue. I don't mind spending bucks on the good stuff. But things that crash 5 minutes into a game ... that's not the good stuff. Rather take my bucks and buy some new motorcycle farkles instead, heh.

Running Firefox while having tabs open with videos on them seems to encourage crashes. They don't have to be playing, just show the page is enough and includes embedded videos.

Both the driver and Firefox will crash randomly. Have to say that FF has a lot of plugins installed and wasn't 100% stable before this driver.

Having the same issues as the OP and also in firefox as already discussed. Thought it was my o/c settings as it does seem worse when I o/c. But I had found stable clocks on older drivers and now they are not stable anymore. I guess I should roll back.

yes, that's what WHQL is, you pay microsoft for a sticker

it's not microsoft's job to test games, they certify that the driver installs & loads in windows properly

no particular shame in this as microsoft requires whql for metro apps, so all companies need to put out whql from time to time (as i understood it in the past when people were trying to play gpu accelerated videos in metro apps on beta drivers)

Hi!
I already posted this in another thread but some might not see it.
I got my 970 last week and was having driver crashes and recovery when playing the witcher 3.
After some digging in nvidia forums I tried setting the PhysX to CPU instead of Auto and it didn't happen again since, been like 3 days now.
I don't know if this will fix all crash/recovery problems but surely fixed mine.

This entirely disables PhysX for some games, just FYI.

Just changing the PhysX processor to the CPU instead of the GPU. Had no idea this disabled PhysX :O
Well but even if this disables it, I rather have it disabled than getting crashes from time to time during games.
