Hello All,
I am a current member, just unable to log into my account! Previous account was Blixx1981.
Here goes my issue! I decided to re-install Windows on my larger SSD.
Before I wiped Windows, the install was running fine, hindsight I should have just left it alone.
After installing the latest drivers (amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit) my video craps out, the screen goes black.
No Windows Updates are installed at this point, I always install hardware drivers before updating Windows.
Sames results if I wait to install the drivers till after Windows Updates.
If I install the GFX drivers through Device Mangler, I get the same results.
The computer is still on, even shows HD activity, but when pressing the power button to shut off the PC nicely, there is no response, I have to reset it.
If I don't install the drivers the PC stays running, albeit Windows Experience Index has a rating of 1.0 due to no GFX drivers installed.
I even went as far as to install the drivers that shipped with the card (13.25), screen still goes black.
For giggles, I updated the MoBo Bios as well as the Card's Bios, same results.

OS > Windows 7 64bit < 2014/06/13 update
I read it's possible it could be the power supply, I swapped out the video card with my HD6850.
The system runs fine with the 6850, no issues.
While booted up with the 6850, I downloaded GPU-Z, enabled logging and set to update every second.
Captured logs for the sake of it.
I then swapped out the card for the R9290 OC, started GPU-Z, Re-ran the Windows Experience Assessment.
The PC stayed up when the Assessment was completed, still running GPU-Z I opened up chrome, and bang black screen again.
I had no issues with the previous Windows installation, even with the omega drivers. I made no changes to the PC internally nor made any changes to Bios prior to the new install.
Cooling is not an issue, there's no way the card could have hit temp.

3 of the fans pulling in on the front of the case, 1 blowing out on the rear, and the other 2 and connected to the H100i (2x2 fans with a push / pull configuration.) blowing out of the top of the case.
Attached is the GPU-Z log file, can anyone who knows what to look for check it out and let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to fix it, or should I contact Asus for an RMA? 1st part of the log is the 6850, the 2nd is the R9290. I really don't want to lose this card as I got it when it first came out and paid $600 for it.
