Wait wait... guys do you think this issue with 3DMark might be like Furmark? You know where the GPU isn't working as hard as it should because ATi wants to save us the heat issues or some such nonsense? Later today I'm going to load 3DMark 06 and do some tests. :toast:

Resolved Issues for the Windows Vista Operating
    System
This section provides information on resolved issues in this release of the ATI
Catalyst™ Software Suite for Windows Vista. These include:
    • During game play for “Age of Conan”, DirectX 10 may cause the screen to
    blank

That would be cool, if like, the game actually had DX10... :)

Thank you, I'm fully aware that DirectX 10 was planned :) , but like many other things, Failcom failed to deliver it. And half of the necessary supporting DX10 content or data is not even present in current installations.

I don't see how ATi has adjusted, tested, or improved on something that isn't available to end-users. I don't even think a working testbed of DX10 AoC content is available to them either.

Hence why I find it comical they mentioned it.

I am trying to flash my BIOS so I can get better default 3d core and memory speeds and with these new, drivers they try defaulting my speeds back to what they think it should be even after flashing the BIOS? Am I doing something wrong here with RBE? I can post pics of what steps I am taking step by step if it will help to better understand what is going on. Thanks,

Hey guys 8.11 delivers in 30 minutes or less.

Are you using a 4850 and did you run the test multiple times? Did you thoroughly uninstall the previous drivers?

My last question you should really think about. There's a guide to removing drivers here. Please don't omit any steps. You'll be glad you didn't.

    Lester- says thanks.

8.11 being a PITA for me in 64bit Vista. I get a BSOD right before the login screen complaining about atikmdag.sys.

Go to save mode, disable the second card in device manager. It will boot then.

If you want you can try restarting a few times after that to see if it will give you a figity "both cards disabled". You know you have it when you boot up with default windows non widescreen res that happens when you have no driver installed. When that happens go into save mode again, enable second card. It will work then at full speed. If you try to enable the second card at any other time though, BSOD again.

Im saddened about when this was introduced into the 8.10 hotfix driver, but was never fixed.
