Right. While Recons (as in "reconnaissance") are supposed to be more forward and help their team by spotting and painting vehicles etc but most people just play it as a lone wolf (or pup more like) distance sniper.

Again at least I can get to the rooftops fairly easily myself now to go knife them.

Yeah have seen even more reports about significantly better perf under Windows 8. Def upgrading around Xmas when I get new full-sized mobo.

Its mainly due to the way Windows 8 handles DirectX now. But yeah, Win 8 is really a must for BF4, and probably will be for games in the next year or so with next gen and all that. With 11.1/11.2

Well read somewhere else that it's the fact it's running in DX 11.1 (BF4 being the first 11.1 game); would be interested in more technical details.

Oh yeah this game is SO FUN. Already at this early stage. My fingers hurt from playing so much today. That hasn't happened in years.

If anyone wants a little more performance for a little visual hit, try lowering the resolution scaling. Even 5-10% gives major improvements. It has helped me be closer to 40 fps with 3 screens on two 5870s. Things are a little grainy, but the game plays better. Unfortunately I think there's a bug with Eyefinity. I turned on the performance graph and the CPU (yes it's the CPU, I made sure it was not the GPU as that's what I was expecting) constantly jumping up and down by a lot. Never had this in BF3.

Lastly, two things:

1) Land boat is so op. Dice needs to nerf badly.
2) OMG I love the 870.

Battlefield 4 (Beta) Gameplay w/HD 7970

Just started playing some BF4 Beta two days and started recording some footage.

Playing with every setting maxed out including 4xMSAA at 1920x1080.

on the smaller 32 man map, if they completely removed the ability to get on the roof the map would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better

edit.. i expand on that.. if they removed rooftops or atleast limited them (sloped roofs?) on both the small and large map it'd be so much better... right now it's either play in a vehicle or camp on a roof, you don't even need to be a sniper because the weapons seem to have minimal damage falloff... Really not fun

Heh really not trying to encourage the War Of The Rooftops (nor do I really ever play Recon and don't expect that to change) but sniping is harder, better and cooler this time around, like so much else in this game imo. Also like how you use the binocs to get your target distance as well as paint vehicles for locks.

Edit: Oh tho I will be picking up Recon kits a hell of a lot more often now to see if they have C4.
