So are they going to add a highly tesselated ocean above the sky as well as below the ground this time around? God forbid any of these PC melting features have an actual reason!

Gonna be a tesselated jungle bundled with NV GK110 card. It's hard to believe Yerli after the DX11 blunder with Crysis 2 (not speaking about the aforementioned ocean but the fact that the game launched in... DX9).

On the other hand there are some games lately which can bring a powerful machine to its knees at max settings just because they can and not because they look extraordinary. Somebody has to buy them $500 cards.

TBH I still think Crysis 1 looks amazing. But with DX11 becoming more common, it's been overtaken by the likes of other newer games just recently.

erocker has 1, Kurgan has 2...This is TPU were talking about here, I'm sure we can find some more

though very Ernest and honest sounding, this yerli is a delusional prick, if i had his email address id put him right on what PC owners were annoyed about with crysis 2, for me it was preordering a dx11 certed game that by the time i played it (3 months later only(dx11 patch time))was selling for 15 quid due to what exactly, poor sales,= shit game.

How about instead of better graphics, why don't they add a story? :3

A dead world that has hi res textures....it also makes a strong impression as it's environments are pretty, ie, tropical surroundings, but both FO3 HD and Skyrim HD look better than Crysis1 as a whole IMO.

That is stupid, its known as poor codding they cant make it right so they opt to melt PCs:shadedshu
I have seen games looking stunning than any crysis and are not highly demanding.

We all know that this can be done with lesser hardware if only game developers did their jobs right

True, I'll stick to its known as poor codding eg. Just coz some one has a HD7990 or GTX690 the say while developing games, "Why bother tweaking this game and make it run perfectly on all relevant hardware without killing them and people have Top notch hardware" I say its known as being lazy on the developer's side. They do not want lots of work so they kill peoples hardware in the name of so called KILLER Graphics

There was one thing I think that Crysis 1 was the first game to do. I think it was the first game not to AA the entire screen when enabled. That's something very common today though the way it is being done today I don't think helps with the image quality.

An island in the middle of nowhere with an irregular army plus a nest of spaceinvaders is just one of the worst base settings for a any story. To show off beatiful scenaries why not follow a Thomb Raider approach: exotic places, old ruins, lots of water, a treasure and some monks. No cloak no aliens needed for me.

Naaah I want to see how the story plays out. I kinda liked Crysis 2.

Maybe but I still want to find out. And it's not that terrible (glares at Skyrim).

If you can handle that storyline plus the horrible horrible AI intelligence, you really impress me. Honestly, I'd rather play DNF than deal with that enemy AI in the Crysis games.

I can hardly remember how the AI was, I really don't care about that stuff. I mean sometimes I do, but Crysis is not so good I care that much. The first game I played at first for the novelty of the thing (at first), the others just to see how the story played out. It's not like I'm invested in it or anything, just curious.

I usually don't notice AI, but when they are as smart as a bag of bricks, it becomes too obvious to me. In Crysis 1 I alerted an entire military base, then I ran into a shed with only 1 door and hid in a table. they came in single file, clueless as to where I was in there. And I just shot them one at a time dead. It seriously seemed like they had a number and it was being called, just 1 guy then 1 more then 1 more, never 2 or 3.

I mostly just run around on Crysis games to look at how good they look. I buy them later after release for cheap so I don't feel bad for buying them just to do that.

So it's going to run well on consoles and still melt PCs. Right.
Maybe they are going to have the PC version running furmark in the background or something.

Or they have a lot of graphic options for the PC. I assume you can do that (I know nothing about game development though so I could be wrong).

It would require quite a bit more work, but yes, they could do that Frick.
We'll just have to wait and see what the end result is like.

    Frick says thanks.
