It's possible, although in the short time I've maintained that CAP thread, I can't recall any coming out very quickly.

I still have cursor lag at the top right of the screen... maybe the fix was for non-eyefinity users or something.

Never said anything was wrong with them. And CAPs, which I did say something about, aren't hotfixes, they're just new CAPs.

Context. It's always important.

And AMD moves plenty fast when it's something affecting a ton of people. The hotfixes aren't anything substantial, they're just the status quo when a company releases GPUs that are too new to have their issues specifically coded for from the beginning (as in right now and in 11.4a with the 6600/6700 series issues under DX9) or when a new game everyone cares about needs a mid-stride driver update outside of their monthly schedule cause they won't risk their competitor posting optimized-driver-assisted fps victories all over the more benchmark addicted game reviewer's websites.

Call me crazy, but I never really understood what this mouse lag issue (I've never personally encountered it) had to do with the video card drivers. I mean, that old chestnut a few months back of the random mouse cursor artifacts I understand, but if the mouse is lagging, isn't that between the mouse and the motherboard? And sure the GPU is using the drivers to display everything, including this laggy mouse cursor, but isn't it amazing that the drivers can handle HD streaming from youtube, high resolution gaming visuals and other facts of casual PC display life, and yet they still manage to cock up the proper displaying of the mouse cursor???

Bizarre.

In most cases, I'd have to agree with you, however, 11.4 and above drivers are the first time I have ever had cursor lag. I doubt it would be an IRQ conflict as you are suggesting because, A.) the hand-off is done during POST so that conflicts/unresolved dependencies are sorted prior to boot, B.)What is amazing is that my motherboard would have an issue seeing as how it's Northbridge alone easily tops 4.2ghz, can handle 12GB of DDR3 @ 2055mhz, an i7 980X @ 4.6ghz w/HT, is one of the more bandwidth endowed boards on the market capable of full four-way PCIe 2.0 x16, and is currently running two HD6990s (4x HD6970s) plus a GTX460 for PhysX, but it would have a problem with a mouse.... yet I digress. IRQ or VGA driver, it didnt start for me until 11.4 WHQL, and I've been dealing with catalyst since 1996.

Personally it sounds more like a WDM driver issue to me as going into Control Panel> Performance Information and tools> Adjust Visual Effects and disabling "show shadow under mouse pointer" resolves this issue on the desktop, but not for those that experience it in games.

Yep, it is...
And, this just my opinion, but, I don't believe AphexDreamer was directing that comment to you; notice you were not quoted. It was, I believe, directed to the OP's mildly mordant opening statement.

Oh, and, he never mentioned CAPs, which you were referring to in your post.

Well, this could be, because you have not experienced it, so, you do not understand it. I, myself had it and, luckily got rid of it. My lag(stutter) of the mouse cursor was in the top right corner... If my mouse cursor went to that area it would stutter(lag).
It is real, it has been discussed here(on TPU), as well as countless other forums across the web. Try google.
