Crazy - computer starts up by itself

Crazy - computer starts up by itself all of a sudden.
I don't have a clue as to what is causing this but I power down one of my computers and come back to it in a couple hours and it's on.
Sitting there at the log-in screen.
Yea, I know I can turn off the power switch at the power supply or unplug it at the wall... but I want to find out what is causing this.
Only one machine is doing this out of four.
All run the same Win 7 setup.
Any ideas?

I think it's not hardware related, but thanks.
It's probably software, like Windows Firewall rules.
I am going through them right now.
I found a couple strange things in there related to File and Printer Sharing.
I had that stuff all turned off but I find some of the rules have changed and were on??
I'm playing with Windows Firewall Advanced at the moment to see what else looks strange.

Windows would have no effect on your PC's physical power pulse unless you are mistakenly putting it in sleep or hybernate with say the mouse being moved to activate.

Ok, I'm listening to ya. I'm all ears.
And I would think not, too. But what would you think may be causing it?
My power settings in Windows are "never" for display and sleep.

Could be a grounding issue or issues with the power button not decompressing. Also I have my machine at work set in the bios to be always on so if the PSU has power then it automatically boots the PC. I do this to ensure it continues crunching for TPU.

Open the case and unplug the power pin that goes to the motherboard and shutdown then wait. It could tell alot!

Ok, just for the hell of it and because I have a lot of spare stuff laying around I did swap the PS for a brand new Corsair 850, although I don't believe that's the issue.
I also checked the power on switch, it's not sticky at all. It's a Cooler Master HAF case in a clean environment and seems to be working good.

Now I have to watch it for a while to see if it starts up by itself.

Check and see if Wake on LAN or wake on mouse and similar stuff is enabled or disabled in BIOS.

Also check to make sure the CMOS battery is still okay. A dead battery can cause this as well.

Damn machine did it again about an hour after I replaced the PS.
I went out for an hour and came back, it was on.

Battery...the bios is holding the date and time ok.
All power on settings are set to disabled state in the bios.

That's not really 100% true. A computer can be turned on remotely via the Ethernet card if the mobo supports it. Raw turn that bitch off and disconnect the Ethernet cable. I bet she stays off. If it does you got other issues.

You could also look into "Wake Up on RTC" options, although that only works with sleep mode as far as I know.

Another thing that can make systems restart is a shorted USB. Normally this causes an immediate restart, but maybe you have something that shorts as it cools down.

Hmm, default the bios and check if your power on switch is not sticking. Also check the pins on the mainboard where the power on switch connects too.

Doing a little reading about WOL and here is what I gather. WOL is the Wake-on-LAN feature and only allows computers to be switched on; it does not in itself bypass password and other forms of security.

Hmmm...
I thought I did have a USB problem a couple weeks ago and a mouse died on me.
Bought a new mouse, thought all was good because the USB works good with the new mouse.
The plot thickens.

I had a problem similar to this years ago, when I turned on my 360 it would turn on my pc instantly, are you sure that when you turn on something on the same socket its not causing the pc to turn on.
