Dunno why people say Pentium 4’s run hot. I Oced a Pentium 4 to 3.8 GHz and it never goes over 45 C load and 20 C idle. Maybe just luck or good airflow.
With what cooler and which P4?
There is a BIG difference between the .13 micron 60nm and 90nm chips...
For instance my little brother has a 90nm P4 3.0 at stock clock with a Zalman cnps7000 and a 120mm right next to it and it idles at 55c and under load gets up around 75c.
