thorough driver removal? what does that mean? Like the drivers on my computer? or removing the old video card? oh and the disabling IGP... like i said im a noob so i have no idea what that is : x

ok before you disable the Integrated Graphics Processor (HD 3000 IGP) You need to remove the old drivers for it first. Better yet just disable IGP and then Install the video card and drivers

Benchmark Scores 2cm mark on bench with a razor blade.
Decent PSU (one of the corsair enthusiast series) and a 6770 or 7770 at least for bang for buck.

i heard the 7770 was a major improvement over 6770 in performance, but I have to say the card is actually pretty good actually

So i bought a plain ASUS CM1630 model desktop at bestbuy a year and a half ago and im trying to run Diablo 3 and its alittle choppy at the lowest settings so im trying to purchase a new video card to try and boost it. What im looking at to upgrade to -

i know ill need to upgrade the power supply because i think its just a 300watt but i just want to make sure by asking some smart folk if this will work for me :). or if you guys have any better/cheaper suggestions ill be extremely grateful. Thanks guys for taking the time to look at this and help!

As others have said you'd need a new PSU. Please ask for advice if you are unsure which PSU to purchase.

As far as the GPU goes, you can get a 6950 for almost the same price.

SAPPHIRE 11188-22-20G Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit G...

It really comes down to how much you are willing to spend. Bear in mind your CPU is a limitation.

Your spec doesnt say how much RAM your rig has, if its 2GB I would advise going upto 4 GB minimum.
