I searched and the most recent relevant thread is like June 09, and much can change in almost a year, so I figured I'd start a new one.

Any players here from TPU have an active Eve-online account going? If so, primary pilot name? Corp/Alliance?

Me: Cinori Aluben [Gladiators of Rage] {Systematic-Chaos} - Live in 0.0 Esoteria right now, just moved down to a 0.0 corp, but I was a Rens highsec carebear for a long time.

If people are near each other, would be fun to get some little TPU roams, or even just rat/mine together.

I'm actually running for CSM (Council of Stellar Management) this go around too. Platform is: "Fixing the Little Things First - It takes 5 small things to make a disaster." Website: www.littlethingsfirst.com [Not up yet, working on it atm, but I have it registered] Gonna have a forum & everything when it goes live.

    Safe Flying!

Yup Im currently active. Names Taz100420 on there also. Im in Aspire Academy but am moving to Aspire Field Works as soon as the CEO of ASFW gets on and accepts me lol. Our home system for ASFW is in 7YW (0.0 sec) along with the CVA alliances POS. We have to use theirs till we get one up and running for ASFW. We have one for Aspire Industrial tho. Too bad Providence is under heavy siege as of late. Stupid Against All Authorities.....

I was in 0.0 Branch for a brief period but that didn't work out so well. Now my corp is rebuilding in a .5 Caldari. I'm mostly active but Battlefield and life is contending hard for my time.

Used to play it for about 3 years before it became too much.

My account has been inactive for years, but it has some pretty nice stuff such as original Eos and almost all t2 drone bps and some other t2 ship bps I can't even remember now.

I learned the basics, but didn't have the time to really get into it. but i had a three month so i logged on regularly to train. i've gotten trained pretty well and have a good amount of ships/cash but still not much time to play. still training and hoping to be "active" active soon. ;)

in essence i'm still kinda new so... any tips on where to go from here?

they are actually doing that now? :) :) :)

i'd never heard of that. so is that effectively single player eve? is Eve ok with that?

that is going to be freaking epic. now is the time for me to, make time.

there used to be tools to plan out your character and see options and such, anyone know the best?

Oh yes its gonna get fun. But no one will be able to blow up the colonies until Dust 514 is released for the consoles as a MMO/FPS. We will have to "hire" ppl from Dust 514 to invade the colonies.

I haven't visited eve-online.come for years now. The last time I visited, they were talking about full station interior environment for eve characters. Has that become reality ?

Well, for it being a sandbox game, whatever floats your boat.

    But, for tips, train skills.

    Okay. That was too vague.

Train cruiser ship skills as well as mining and basic industrial skills until you get a vision of what your character will become.

Wow, a lot of responses so quickly. Great to see so many TPUers on Eve! It's definitely my fav mmo I've played to date, but is a time-sink no doubt, as with any MMO really. I can't wait for Planetary Interaction either, it'll be fun, and add an interesting extra piece into the dynamics of Eve. I'll try to hit some of you guys up online.

    Eve Utilities that I use:

    • EveMon - Ultimate Skill Planning and Character Monitoring App. It really is amazing.
    • Eve Fitting Tool (EFT) - Allows you to play around with fittings on your ship before you buy them, which is really nice, esp w/ rigs.
    • EveHQ - This one kinda does the job of both EveMon and EFT. I think it is superior to EFT personally in that realm, but not as good as EveMon in skill planning/monitoring.
    • Capsuleer for iPhone - basically allows you to monitor basic API info on your iphone, as well as browse skills, and link with devblogs and the eve blogosphere.

While AAA is blue to us, I haven't had much personal interaction with them, other than to know they've got a dang lot of space, and want more. With Goonswarm falling apart as it did, there's definitely been a lot of chaos in that area.

You should really consider reactivating when Tyrannis comes out, I'm sure they'll have some sort of promotion. Wow, are those BPOs??? If so, that is some seriously valuable stuff you've got there. If you decide you don't wanna go back, can I Haz ur stuff?

I'd say join a good corp (0.0 are the best imho - but Wormhole corps are fun too), and have some fun! Find the corp that's right for you: industry, mining, ratting, missions, ninja-salvaging (those dirty bastards lol), PvP, WHs... there are so many branches that you can get into, or dabble a little in them all! Check out our corp: Gladiators of Rage - they're actively recruiting right now actually, 0.0 corp that does mining, ratting, PvP, manufacturing.
For training, I'd say definitely get some cruiser skills going if you want to PvP, mining/manuf skills if you're into industry, or Battleship skills if you want to mission. I recommend also for everyone to train up to a Covert Ops frigate at some point, bc it's such an asset in just about every arena of Eve to warp cloaked.

You're talking about ambulation/walking-in-stations/In-carna (latest name) - that has been in development for so long, announced before 2007... it's coming Soon™

Ya that is definitely tough you pirate yarrrrr :rockout: Jumping around space for hrs, only to hit a gatecamp and go pop is so crappy!:banghead::banghead:

Of course, they are all BPOs. I wouldn't even *brag* about it if they weren't bpo, lol. I also have around 60b isk in my bank. Before I quit, I was a t2 merchant, making stuff out of my bpos and selling them.

I played eve-online from closed beta, so I guess you can call me a veteran player.

And, no, I am keeping 'em.

If I do reactive in near future, I wanna make a new character. My main's skill tree's a mess !

The best tip is join a corp like an Academy. I found that if u join an active one (like Aspire Academy) you have so much interaction between alot of players and they may have sister corps. for mining or PvP, WH, 0.0 ratting(alot of ISK there!) once u "graduate" with all the needed certifications

Single player would be rather pointless in eve. It's a server emulator under development (for quite a while). Progress is slow unfortunately.

Btw, if you're some C++ guru and like eve, start coding on evemu :)

You can't do much for just 14 days... you'd be sorely disappointing
