the reason this is turning into an argument, is because you're being too defensive mailman. Just because someone disagrees isnt a reason to pick apart their reasoning - you CAN just let them be, and allow w1zzard to read this thread when he gets around to checking this subforum (which he does).
When he reads the thread, he'll see where majority opinion lies and make a decision himself - 'debating' or arguing every little point is not going to sway his opinion either way.
Even the thread title "hey mods" isnt very tactful - its a bad title. "Question about deleted posts", "suggestion about deleted posts" "why arent people notified when posts are deleted?"
Things like this may be related to why some of your posts go away. The message can be the same, but different methods of wording lead to different connotations and implications, thus turning a question into a challenge, and a rebuttal into an argument.
