Is 1380 grams (3.0 lbs) too heavy for a heatsink? I'm using an ASUS striker 2 extreme (for those of you who have seen my other posts, got all my new stuff working, only to find that my scythe slimstream fans were leaking oil everywhere), so I'd imagine it is meant for heavy heatsinks, but I don't know of any THAT heavy. It seems ok with a 1000g (2.2 lbs) heatsink on it for now.
I am looking to get these fans, but the problem is that I don't think a 4pin PWM to molex connector exists. (110 CFM, 39.5 DBA, 140g).
As a result, it would seem that I need to buy these instead. (109 CFM, 38.0 DBA, 340g). Clearly the superior fan, but I just don't know if my motherboard can handle it. Thoughts?
