Hey, guy's it's been a long time! I hope this forum works.
So we got in contact with a fiber optic company and they said we can get fiber to our house for around $8,000 installed. Last year it was brought down our road and they asked if we wanted to hook up for $1,500, we had never heard of the fiber company and went on vacation so missed the deadline .They claim they had a limited time Gov. Grant to help with cost.
We live in the middle of the country on a gravel road, currently we can only get Wireless - Canopy Point-to-Point with Download speed of 128K....
The Fiber line is about 0.5Miles away it was ran to a Verzion Wireless Cell Tower.
Main Question's-
1. Do you think this is a good price for the distance?
2. Do you think it's worth it? Example: home resale value goes up?
3. What is a good speed for 2 people watching 1080p video at same time? Maybe also gaming.(pCars/StarCitizen)
4. Does anyone currently have Fiber? Pro's/Con's?
Going to try and get these prices lowered if we agree with the installation price $8,000 can do 24 month installment plan.
Here's the quoted speed/price
