It depends. Look on the side of your PSU and tell me the number of Amps on the +12V rail. Another big consideration is that the PSU be decent quality. I'm not familiar with what HP sticks in their prebuilts so I will leave that to others.

I think it's best for you to upgrade your PSU. In your other thread on the subject of a GTX 970 some good suggestions were made iirc. Go back and have a look.

I absolutely cannot make out the label. Listing 3 12v means it should be a 3-rail design. Are you certain it doesn't give the number of amps on each 12v rail?

Note below that there are Amperage ratings for each 12V rail. What does your power supply tag read as? Can you attached the pic to your post instead of your avatar?

It's an Acbel OEM. The PSU does not have the required PCI-E Power connectors to attach anything but a GPU solely powered by the PCI-E lane itself. OP requires a decent PSU.

i'm just going to go upgrade the psu and get the GTX 970 i cant figure out how to put in a bigger pic off the psu but its about the same as above one
