The expansion pack for Half-Life 2 won't be called "Aftermath" as has been floating around for a long time. It'll be called "Half-Life 2: Episode One" and there will be a yet unnamed amount of episodes that'll continue the HL2 story and characters.
Valve, developer of HL2 and owner of the video game download service, Steam, have their business model set on producing 4-6 hour playable episodes of video games instead of the usuall 10 hour+ features that are the norm for the video game industry. The episodes will go for roughly $20 US each compared to the $50-60 of "normal" games.
Rumour has it Half-Life 2: Episode One will be relased April 24, 2006. But what Valve's PR department says is not exactly what Valve does - judging from past game releases.
