Half-Life 2 "episodes" officially announced
The expansion pack for Half-Life 2 won't be called "Aftermath" as has been floating around for a long time. It'll be called "Half-Life 2: Episode One" and there will be a yet unnamed amount of episodes that'll continue the HL2 story and characters.
Valve, developer of HL2 and owner of the video game download service, Steam, have their business model set on producing 4-6 hour playable episodes of video games instead of the usuall 10 hour+ features that are the norm for the video game industry. The episodes will go for roughly $20 US each compared to the $50-60 of "normal" games.
Rumour has it Half-Life 2: Episode One will be relased April 24, 2006. But what Valve's PR department says is not exactly what Valve does - judging from past game releases.

lol.. thats just the best way they found to make the franchise and steam live longer
Plus.. moneywise hehe... makin peeps buy 3+ episodes (since every games or movies tends to be a trilogy now..) 20 bucks each.. well.. do the maths..
I have a friend who only plays Doom 2 and Tribes all fucking day, and during school too. Its like crack to him, hes addicted. He refuses to play any other game, he says HL2/Doom3/Far Cry/Painkiller/BF2/DC0.7/FEAR/COD all suck. Thats how isolated he is, and I smell that in you.
HL2 is one of the best games ever made when you look at it from a progressive point of view. Incredible physics and interactive enviroments, modern smooth running graphics engine, interesting (to say the least) storyline. Gameplay, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Some people just have bad vision.
I love this quote-
I like the game. If you don't... your loss. :) No really - if you don't like the game, I don't care.
