have Nvidia 9700M GTS for Qosmio 305 Q701 laptop and want to upgrade

I believe I have to replace this card - which near as I can tell is no longer around.

I am not a complete noob, but I am when it comes to figuring out this laptop.


What card can I put in this thing? What information do I need to know before I can even look for one?

I want an Nvidia card - no less than 512mg, preferably 1gb
it has to fit the Qosmio 305 Q701 laptop (the red one with the 17" screen)
beyond that... I know nothing. I don't know the size, don't know the watts it needs, the cooling it needs... I just have no clue.

I hope you guys can help, because so far no one else has

Your upgrade options are VERY limited. I'll research the specs on your lappy and gpu but it's doubtful you'll be able to upgrade, and usually upgrades for laptops generally tend to be in the same series of cards. ie 9700 to 9800 range.

And mobile gpu's are crazy expensive, might be worth it to sell what you have and invest it towards a better lappy.
