LOL, I was about to thank everybody here in this thread, but because of this, I'm thanking only the moderators in this thread!
Well, I'm another refugee from XS' perma-bans to the news section.
I was on my 1300-ish post when this "Vapor" admin I never saw posting before, decided to ban me temporarily because I complained about a guy doing nVidia propaganda all the time.
Then I sent an educated e-mail to the XS staff explaining why I disagreed with that admin's actions and suggesting for him to be less trigger-friendly.
Result? They extended my ban without any explanation. I didn't care because I was on vacation the whole time.. but it showed their colors.
When the ban finally lifted (about 3 weeks later), I noticed I had been permanently banned from the news section, where I made about 95% of my posts.
There are no limits for some people's stupidity..
I then realized it's not me who is "unfit" to post in XS, it's that forum who doesn't deserve my participation.
Nonetheless, XS is already rotting away because of trigger-friendly moderation, the usual participants in the news section were all banned and now only a couple of users with a dozen of posts appear in it.
So I erased my cookies, cleaned the saved forms, deleted the XS links from all my browsers and here I am as a new settler.
This here seems a lot better, to be honest. The front site is actually updated with forum news, the familiar vBulletin seems recent and people seem nice
Hmm, I just went over it and completely agree with you that a perma-ban from the news section over there for this one post just aint cool. It just aint cool! But it's for the better, since we're now here!
The "good" guys seem to be migrating over here!
