If you mean "explicit" content unsuitable for younger audiences - I saw none of that. But my daughter might have enabled filtering for that.
No, Nintendo doesn't allow that stateside. In Japan they do(AFAIK), but there is an age gate system to prevent kids from gaining access.

Sorry Lex, but you lost me (still deficient on caffeine this morning). Are you saying Nintendo/Switch doesn't have/allow "parental controls"? I hope that's not the case. My great-grandson is only 6 so I am not worried about him (yet). But he does have an uncle who will soon be 13 - who I trust but did I mention he was 13?

They do, what I was referring to was the "Adult" type titles. NOA doesn't allow it.
Ah! Gotcha. Thanks, Lex. That makes sense.

In this case, I'm not worried about that since the kids don't have the money or means to purchase anything on their own without a supervising adult's knowledge.

Anyway, thanks to all for all the input. It seems the great-grandson is going to make a good haul this year as his mom, his grandparents, great-grandpa and uncles are all getting him Switch related gifts (games, carrying case, controllers, etc.). Santa is bringing the actual Switch. ;)

Now the hard part is going to be keeping it a secret until Christmas morning because as of right now, he believes (and says he understands :)) that Santa cannot get him a Switch this year because so many other, unfortunate kids around the world, are really in need of other things.
