do tempertures usually go up the longer you run it or do they stay steady all the way through?

right now its 50c, should it stay in that range 35-50?

It depends on the air flow in you’re case; it will go up but not much. Try it out you’ll see.

how long should i run it for, i really dont think im going to have in instabilitys cause i have a really good stepping and this isnt as far as people have overclocked it and had it be stable without changing voltage.

dj dn, how good is ur stepping, how much is it better than mine? did u have any instabilitys when u tested? Cause i dont think im going to have any cause i have a good stepping, and if this is just to test for those then i dont think i have any, also does it matter to do prime 95 on core 1 or 2 for burn in or can you just do the test on one to burn in the arctic silver?

also does doing this wear in the cores?

im going to stop now its been running for a hour, nothing about instablility came up and the temperatures are going fine, and like i said like ten times people got this cpu and stepping to overclock to 3ghz stable, no reason mine shouldnt be stable at 2.59ghz.

ok running burn in does stress the cores but you should be safe just leave it were it is and be happy :)

Here is a chart to compare amd opty 165’s http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=96900. All CCBBE are good steppings. If you are still on stock cooling get one of these,Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, there cheap and they do a very good job a cooling you’re system down( for the price nothing beats it). My opty at 2.7GHz never goes over 51C on full load. But i do have a fair amount of fans: 92MM + 3x 80MM + 120mm. That’s with out the internal fans (HDD'S fan, VC, PSU)

PS: Am i even allowed to link this way?
