Yes, I think part of the reason I'm now stable is the 1.22v NB, and make sure to use at least 1.20v on the SB.
Edit: I wouldn't actually use more than either value, these are the max.....

Thank you both for your replies and hints :)

I reverted back all my cpu/nb overclock to stock clocks, and when I was entering windows I got a bsod :twitch:, right like the previous one, 2-5 seconds just after desktop apears.

Pic ;)

Before that I´d been playing MOH for an hour flawlessly, and run several vantage sesions without any issue

I do also not care about 1 or 2 bsod's once in a while :D

Yes, I've seen that one, too. I've only been seeing them on the cold starts. My system is highly overclocked, but I've always been stable until recently. I'm going to try the new 260.xx driver later tonight and see what happens.

I´m using v260.89whql since they came out. Other than the bsod issues, they are running great ;)

My system is also highly overclocked. 3ghz cpu at 3.92ghz currently, 1066ram at 1090mhz, both 260s at 1566 shaders ect, not a problem! Just need to know what voltage settings to change, and off you go!
Edit: I run a CO stepping e8400, very hard to oc to begin with!

elbubi, it sounds like your ram is the problem here, if you have OC'd it the past or the CPU, it might be failing on the volts you are giving it.

let us know the exact model of ram, and we can let you know what voltage we would give it,

but in the meanttime, run Memtest on your ram at stock volts and speed, to show any errors, if you get them up the voltage 0.1v, and retest ram.

keep going until you hit the limit v's for your ram, if its still showing oerrors then the stick of ram is bad

Thanks for your hints soundood ;)

I´ve done Memtest several times both stock and oc clocks, and it passed it both ways.

My ram is GSkill RipJaws 12800 CL7 (7-8-7-24-2N), and they run at v1.6 but I have them at v1.65 since I clocked them 1T-90ns instead of 2T-110ns, I did not raise its mhz, they are running at 1600. (http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=243)

It might be cpu volt drop as you said, but I algo got that bsod with stock clocks/volts once, but i will try +0.025 to cpu (1.5 instead of 1.475) to see what happens (have tried v1.275 instead of v1.25 on NB but I got it too, so I reverted to v1.25 on the northbridge).

Thanks indeed for your kind reply :)

ok i can see the problem just with the info you have gave me, the ripjaws are great, but you timings are too tight for what you are trying to achieve, also to no actual real benifit,

try this, firstly there is no need nowadays for 1T, and ram should allways be set at 2T, also keep them at 110ns or even increase this to the next option, i believe is 125ns or 175ns. i will bet my bottem dollar that is the problem.

also loosen your timings from 7-8-7-24 to 8-8-8-26, keep the current 1.65v on them, once you have it stable ans no blue screens for a couple of days, revert your timings back too 7-8-7-24 2T with the same 1.65v
also after you have done this, in my experiance it is allways good to do a fresh instal of windows, just to settle it.

let me know how it goes ;)

also let me describe the situations your getting, gaming for ages all is fine, you exit game and hit internet explorer and wham blue screen, or you are surfing the net and close a tab and wham blue screen,

i bet the blue screen, is allways following some kind of action that reads or writes to system memory

Thanks once again for your kind and clever support

Most of the bsod's occur when I´m logging into windows, just after the desktop appers. Vantage rarely game me one, but LP2 benchmark gave me a few. Gaming and other benchs game me no bsods :rockout:

I will try loosening to 2T-110ns and let you know how it went ;). What I find strange, is that with 1x vga I had never had even 1 bsod in 6 months of heavy usage with that oc settings ;)

PS: Now I´m seeking my best 100% stable vga oc, I wish I had a better case with better air flow instead of the cheapo garbage I have :banghead: :D
PS2: Finished with vga oc-ing, now I will revert ALL mi oc (cpu/ram/nb) to stock clocks and see what happens with bsod (have done it before but only with cpu/nb with no luck, now I'll add ram timings reversion)
PS3: Best regards to everyone :)

Elbubi - soundood's advice is sound, he knows what he's saying. Also I think that the second graphic card you've added to your setup might be putting more strain on your mobo's northbridge. If all else fails, try increasing NB voltage to 1.3 or 1.35V.

Thanks Iszak.

Do you mean "plain" NB voltage oc CPU NB voltage?

Cheers

I mean plain NB voltage. My mobo doesn't even have CPU NB voltage control ( only separate for CPU and NB), I guess different architectures :)

try to use k10stat, there the CPU-NB are always shown, and can be manipulated, even if your board got no bios entry for CPU-NB;)

Well, the slipatch is still going strong! With 260.89 whql, here's some shots of Fallout:NV showing fraps. 1920x1200 res, ultra settings inc 8x aa. This game seems to scale well, my min fps are always 60+, so with one card probably halved, thank gawd for this slipatch!

Not bad for a little old dual core eh? Night scenes seems to drop fps too....

Nice pics johnspack, and nice perf too! Thanks for the info.

I'm playing MOH super strong too, I was surprised to see sli support "out of the box", I guess with "big" titles sli support is a "must", isn´t it?

I´m downloading HAWK2 Benchmark atm, would like to see if both gpu works on it, will update soon.

Best regards

That's actually why I mentioned the 260.89 whql, it has the sli profile for fallout:nv included. Which is why I'm glad this patch works with the newest drivers!

SGW worked really well for me with 260.89, both gpu's used and no issue at all.

Have you installed all games updates??? (1,2 & 3). Maybe that could help ;)

Cheers.

Ps: One question to slipatch staff, if it can be answered of course: Is still nvidia including their "malware" to crash slipatch'ed systems in the new 260.xx releases? I hope they're not :D

they do, but the new version of the SLI patch circumvents, kinda blocks it;)

Thanks Velvet. I hope they'll quit with this stupid behaviour, after all we are buying their cards instead of ATi's one. I know there's an intricated "market" debate with this, I don't want to argue that, just want that Nvidia let us all have our sli rigs in peace :D
