while i play 3D games there is a whizing noise coming out of my video card. it looks like a electrical noise. and it slows down my games every second. its like a slight pause. its not heavy but noticeable. what do i do ? is it hardware damage? what could damage it? if i RMA it would it take them too long to send the card back to me ??????

whizing noise coming out of my video card: Like the fan speeding up for a 3d app?

Slows down your games? What games? What settings?

How long for RMA: What company?

i play crysis. even at the menu there is a very slight pause.not just during the game.its like something is loading from hard drive all the time. but i dont think its because of the HD. is it because of the video card???? so if its like that during the menu then it should be like that for all games. I have Gigabyte 9600GS0. do u think the video card is damaged?????

also i upgraded my windows to vista ultimate and Crysis is much slower now. do u experience this too? i play at very high settings and much slower than XP.

u have such a high end computer. u cant realize me anyway. i just have core 2 duo e4500, and a 9600gso. i can play Crysis at 25 to 30fps at very high settings on 1280*1200 resolution on XP but its slower on Vista. i will dual boot to xp. DX10 is pointless on Vista.

hey DaMulta: its because of you high end users that the pc market is expensive. you are in the minority. you are responsible for the companies like ATI and Nvidia to release video cards nearly every month now. please dont bother to post in my thread. I value my own kindred. High end users are not welcomed in here.

Hmm...such agression towards a user trying to help you that's a valued member of this community :shadedshu ...we don't care if someone has the best new thing or not...mid-range, entry or not..we all try to help eachother...so your last 2 posts have me scratching my head, maybe you needed to log off and walk away for a while due to the headaches your rig is giving you?

jp, don't blame him for what the companies are doing, blame the companies for gouging on prices and releasing something to compete with the other guy's next best card, that's how it's been for well over a decade in the VGA business...sure consumers help drive it, but these companies depend on the mid-range sales. But they will always compete to see who can make the next top-dawg component(s) and which one is worth getting, which one wins in benches...both AMD and NV have been deep seated in this..you need to rethink your comments or refrain them until you better educate yourself imo.

Well anyways, Welcome to TPU hope you find it a cool place to visit, but I highly suggest you reconsider how you treat other members here, this is a peaceful place to get help, don't trash it please. We didn't ask you to come here for help, but we do ask for some respect...snapping at another user here like you did is extremely uncool, I just hope you see that now. Continue this trend and Moderators will get involved (this will be reported), that is a guarentee...and I don't see how that'll help you get your issues with your rig figured out. :slap:

Now onto your topic, what you need to consider is under heavy load some components make noise, 8800GT's used to be known for it, I think even 8800GS's have which a 9600GSO really is with a newer BIOS revision and maybe a slight redesign of the PCB, if that much...and a new cooler sticker. But if it's causing issues in your rig as you state, pausing durinng the pulsing of the noise, you may want to consider RMA...maybe your PSU can't handle the stress..I know that I had an old P5B Deluxe that would make a high-pitched whine when OC'd and heavily stressed, it was called a Choke that made the noise, no real fixes for it...hell my G/F's x1950xtx (Got it very discounted as a used product if you're curious!) makes that same noise under load when I have it OC'd beyond 720 MHz on the GPU, which requires around 1.5v...I've backed it off since then though. My P5B Deluxe(s) have since died and been replaced, my 9600GT makes no such noise even modded and OC'd.

If you don't mind, I'd like you to provide us your system specs, there could be more at play here we can identify better if you either (recommended) go to UserCP and fill out the System Specs and allow to show them, or at least post them in your thread. Don't be bashful about it, or defensive, we inquire to help you better because you have given very minimal description and want solid answers from providing very little...doesn't work that way, but if you work with us, we can help get you the answers you need.

Depending on where you got the card, you may have a decent RMA experience...I usually figure around 1-2weeks from a place like Newegg...could be longer if directly through the Mfg of the card, could be a headache...hard saying.

Is it all games that this happens in, or heavier games like Crysis? Does not happen on desktop correct?

Hope to hear back from you, and hope it's a little more peaceful than how you treated Damulta (he's one of the best members on TPU and is very knowlegable and helpful, hell he'll probably still offer to help you with this issue! He's a good guy!), and I hope we can getcha sorted out and figure out the root cause of your issues (with your PC that is! :D ) and get you gaming properly again!
