I just got 2900XT. Need to overclock my CPU badly - got only 3600 CPU score in 3dMark05 out of 10K+ total.
But in the meantime, how do I change in-game resolution settings: my Dell's 2005FPW "native" resolution is 1680x1050, I have tried that in teh game (STALKER) with everything maxed out and I'm getting 30-60 FPS (by fraps). I want to go with more eye-candy, but less resolution, so do I keep the same aspect ratio, when choosing new resolution: 1680/1050=1.6 , so if I want to go to the lowest setting, I need 1280x800? (1280/1.6=800).
I have widescreen monitor, so I need to keep the ratio?
n00b question, but

If you really want to go with the widescreen ratio than yes you're correct, but either way, lowering from 1600+ will increase performance and let you tinker with finer tune eye candy settings.

Also just a little hint ... the higher the resolution you go you dont necessarily have to max out you Anti-Aliasing which in turn can increase performance.

Someone correct me if Im wrong. LOL.

You could always read through Tweakguides.com

Good Luck with it. :rockout:
