Thx for the attention Reventon but I do have my gpu driver updated. Thanks for the post.

At Bo$$, when it locked up and looped on cod2 the temps were 68°C for my GPU and
0: 49° 1: 44° 2: 45° 3: 46° for my CPU cores.

And btw I got no OC's, everything's at stock.

Thanks for the help.

Try this, you can always undo it.

Open "Control panel" > "Sound" > Hi-light(click on it) "Speakers" > "Properties"
Under Speaker Properties choose the "Enhancements" tab and check the box "Disable all sound effects" and "apply" \ "save".

See, if that does anything for the problem.

Everyone has given good advice, don't know what else to say at the moment, but...
Goodluck and if I remember anything else I'll post it.:)

Edit: Also, under your power options settings, make sure it is set for Maximum Performance.

Did both of those, I will post my results asap.

About that high performance option, does it really affect the power consumption like it says? Or is it just a "might"?

Thx for your post.

Waiting to hear results.

As for the power options; yes, the settings can help you save a wee bit of power.
But, IMO, for a desktop, why? You are not going reduce your carbon footprint by a shoe size or anything.

I would rather have the performance on AC power in a desktop or laptop/netbook.
If, you are running off a battery, maybe the few minutes extra is what you are looking for.
You are not going to save that many pennies, by not running the desktop on maximum performance, instead of Balanced or Power Savings (like it says, Saves energy by Reducing your computer's performance where possible).
And, there are a couple of other possible reasons (performance/compatibility wise) to tweak the power options.

Try running system with one memory module at a time. I once had a similar problem, it was one of the memory sticks that was bad.

@ TechnicalFreak

Does it make a difference if I did the memtest? Cos I've run it like for a few hours with no issues. Do I try anyways to remove a stick at a time? Just asking to be sure I won't be going through the forest of cables for nothing xD

I had this same problem... turned out my raid controller was failing. Are you raiding or using ACHI by chance?

You RAM is probably fine... I have had a sound looping video freezing problem, because of my sound card's software, so sound could be the problem...

Hard way to test is to try the PSU in another machine and the mobo also...

But first, try with the bare minimum (ie: OS HDD, 1 stick RAM etc etc)... if the problem still occurs, you can basically be sure to either blame the mobo, integrated sound, or PSU

Also, make sure all the psu cables needed are properly plugged in

I am leaning towards mobo or something from it at least... hell maybe a faulty pci-e slot o_O

Disabled all enhancements. Maximum performance was set in the power options.

I'm not using raid or ahci either. Tested the ram again and it turned out fine.

About that soundcard software thing. Since I got an ASUS mobo with an on-board sound card, should I download sound drivers from the asus website regarding my mobo's name? Or do they get uploaded separately?

Thx for these replies.

Sorry for the very late post guys.

Tried an ASUS sound driver which matches my mobo but didn't solve the problem.
I also had a Realtek sound driver before the ASUS one so it's like I tried them both.

Could it be cos of the 64bit OS? 2 other people I know had the same issues I have and they both have 64bit OS's. Surprisingly their problems stopped although they're still running on a 64bit Win7.

Thx for the help and sorry for the late post.
