I guess that's true. There really needs to be something in between the 8800GTS and 8600GTS. That said, what about the 8600GTS, then another later for SLI?

Thats the problem. Theres a huge gap between 86 and 88. The 8800's would suck my power than I can ever dream of handling right now. And why SLI? I've wanted it to bad at this point I Really don't know. And 2 8800's in SLI is more overkill than ive heard in a while.

You obviously want a new card for gaming, so why not just get a single 8600GT and some extra RAM (I notice you only have 1GB at the moment) this would improve overall performance

if you really want your moneys worth then buy gddr3 version of 7600gs and overclock them. i bought a new xpertvision 7600gs sonic for £22 and got it to 580/800. 7600gt's start at around £60 new i think

I would not go for SLI though. It's not worth it IMO. Sure, up to 80% faster than a single GTS, but the 8800GTS still outperforms it.

he said he was on a budget, so im giving cheapest case scenario. the 8800gts is all fine and dandy but it does cost an arm and a leg (to me anyways)

Ok I have a 7600 gs, guys not a GT not a 7900.... :wtf:

And Its already decided, 2 PNY 8600GT's. DX10, incredible performance, 8800 would make way to many wires in my case and I would need a new PSU. No. These cards need no extra power, will run my games perfect. Its all good. :cool:

I got it planned, first I'll drop one in and Run ATI tool. Write down the highest stable clocks. Reboot with DOS, save the BIOS, edit the BIOS with the high clocks, flash it, and I basically may have a 8600 GTS with my own cool splash screen :pimp:

. And repeat for the other one.
