The PSU is going to be designed to last for that system, for the warranty period at least. If they had to replace every "shit" PSU on every PC they sell, their profit margins would not exist.
So the PSU will be good enough for a years worth. (at least)

Let it install all of it's windows updates first. Then you can install your stuff.

Not sure. But apparently Xtremegear or something like that. A lot of the off-shelf CyperpowerPC systems have shit PSU's.

Roger that.

I hate to kick you while your down but you will HATE that 750 cause its not going to perform as well as you hope

Agreed i would recommend going with BarbaricSoul not oc build or the 1 that I recommended you will get better performance for your dollar.

H81M.... and a 750ti... for 800$$$ yea man I wished you would have just took our advice and ordered the parts off newegg.

I would return both the machine and the PSU and get a FULL refund then start from scratch. Z87 + 4690K + 2x4GB of DDR3 + AMD R280x + Seasonic 620w + NZXT case is all together 695$ shipped to your door and then you choose the OS of your liking to throw on it. WAY better than a h81/750

^^^You're correct, but I don't think that he want to mess with it.^^^
The difference in performance would be about 50-60% better if he did. The quality of the build would be quite a lot better too.

Just waiting now. Turned the system off to let everything cool down to see if it really is the PSU that is the main cause of this.

I believe it is. I know you guys advise for me to do my own build but I'd like to try and get this working before I think about that.

its not the psu when I said they where typically crap I ment while they are adequate for what the machine ships with anything beyond that is a crap shoot also instend of lasting for 5 or more years without a issue typically they only go about 3

its probably a combination of broken drivers and some bug with hardware acceleration in chrome
try disabling shadowplay/stearoscopic support in the NVCP
at this stage I am not really sure why you belive building your own rig is beyond your current ablity
clearly you know enough to change a power supply and you seem to know quiet a lot about t he inter-workings compared to most you are literally 90% there on a knowledge level

Ok well, I have not had a reboot yet after installing all Windows Updates. The only thing that happened initially was during the restarts for Windows Update, the PC would reboot on it's own when it got to the screen with the CyperpowerPC logo. It did that twice. I eventually just manually restarted and it booted up fine completing Windows Updates.

Since then I have been running for maybe 2 hours. Chrome is fine, reinstalled Nvidia drivers and that went fine, ran a game for close to an hour, that ran fine. Had normal things like that running and have not had a reboot yet.

Ran PCTemp and HWinfo, everything looked ok there. I am thinking it was maybe something to do with drivers and whatever one of the 50 + Windows Updates fixed. Will see how it goes. I hope to get this PSU out soon and the one I have coming in.

I know the general consensus here seems to be that it's crap but I am not looking for a super PC that can run games like BF4 at 60 + FPS.

its only crap in the sense that you paided way to much for it a H81 board is like 60 bucks a i5 is like 200 ram is gonna run you about 75-80 for 8GB the gpu is about 140.00 the case is a rebranded AZZA/coolermaster one (60.00) the drive is 60.00 and the power supply is 60.00
so
60+80+140+60+60++60 +200 = 660 and since we know cyberpower doesn't pay full-retail for components you can knock 100.00 bucks off that easy

Yeah, I get that. I'm basically paying more to save myself the hassle of building one on my own, waiting for the parts to ship, etc.

Well, if I end up returning this one I will take a serious look at building my own because I don't want to get some cluttered HP shitbox that I can't upgrade unless I get a new case and so on and so forth.

So far this one has been running well since Windows Update and reinstalling Nvidia drivers. Here's hoping that was all it was.

I hope so too. If you change your mind about the build let us know. Good luck and enjoy.

He has a better PSU that he ordered already. But I agree that the i5-4670 would be better. Especially since he could get a better GPU with the saved PSU money,.................:peace:

He just may be happy with what he has, now that it's working OK,........and that's good too.
I have a feeling that he's gonna be back later to build his own. When he does, we'll help him do it.

Ok haven't had the rebooting issue again. So hopefully that is now fixed.

I decided I will return the CoolerMaster PSU I ordered because the more I look into it, the more it's way too sketchy. This seems to be a bad apple among CM's PSU's and from a series known for mislabeling. I don't want to skimp on the PSU because it's the heart of the system.

Went on newegg.ca and ordered this PSU:
CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139040

Yes, I'd rather have more than enough and something decent in there for future upgrades. I don't want to keep getting new PSU's.

This is what I currently have in there, haven't opened the case yet.

Since PSU's are all standard size, I am not anticipating any issues fitting the Corsair in there even though the way this one is placed in there looks a little odd to me. Not sure why, probably because I don't have much experience with things like this.

I'm glad you changed your mind about the PSU. The CX750 is better than that CM PSU. I read a little about the CM PSU after you posted it and it is indeed sketchy. I was going to post that but I got the impression that you didn't want to hassle with changing the order so I left it alone.

No, I would rather hear honestly about these things. That PSU was way too sketchy for me and I do not want to take my chances with it. Good lesson here, don't blindly trust a brand because for the most part is is reliable.

I would rather shell out $30 + more to get a decent and reliable PSU. It is the heart of the system, after all. I feel much better with the Corsair coming, just hope it fits into the case alright. It should, I mean these are all standard sizes.

it'll be fine, here is my TX850 (don't be jealous of my l33t paint skills)-

notice the positioning of the mounting screws, looks the same as the PSU you have now to me

Thanks, makes me feel a little better. Don't have much experience with these things. Last time I replaced a PSU was about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was with my brother. I know they all come in standard sizes but I looked at my case and the way the current PSU was in there, just seemed a little odd.

I will probably install the Corsair with him instead of blindly attempting it on my own. Appreciate the responses.

Good idea to go with the Corsair PSU instead. But still recommend that you keep it on the shelf until the warranty is over on the PC.

I heard back from CyperpowerPC with respect to the PSU and they basically do not care and gave me the whole "our systems are meant to be upgraded" spiel and that with a new PSU, it will allow for more future upgrades.

Not sure I want to keep it on the shelf. I get why you want me to do that but I just want to get the PSU that is already in there out and get a reliable one in there.

Yeah, I would definitely put the Corsair in as soon as you get it but save the old PSU just in case you need to return the PC under warranty. It's not a big deal to change out a PSU. Just observe the connections and match them up.

That's what I was thinking. If anything, I'll just put the PSU it comes with back in there and take the Corsair out.

I lol'd though....it went on sale on newegg.ca about 2 hours after I purchased it...they're already packaging it and sending it out to the shipping line soon, so I can't cancel the order or anything. Went from $94.99 to $79.99.

This is the luck I have. ;)

Ah well, just want the new PSU in there. Hope everything lines up fine.
