Unfortunately it has come to my attention (twice) that there have been some malicious edits to the google doc (not surprised) putting up hardware under someone elses name. I guess this will have to be rethought or redone.

Give the doc a password and make this into a "club"? For those interested would have to PM someone who is already in the "club" to obtain the password?

Ugh. This thread has never needed to be policed much. I really want to keep it relaxed. However, it seems that a password for the doc would be a good idea. Though I have no idea how to do it. :eek:

Just never really worked much with Google docs. Anyone? If someone wants to set a password and PM me with it, Ill send everyone currentlly offering items a PM with the password. I'll also put in the OP that anyone wanting to offer items must PM me for access.

It appears that password-protecting the document is not possible. The best I can do is restrict access to people that are added to a "list" in which would require a google/gmail account. This is all of the info I can find so far. :ohwell:

Another possibility is password protected zip file and within that an Excel spreadsheet. Then for those who wish to add item(s), PM the last person to edit and post as an attachment "??"

How about everyone go to their 1st listing/offering and edit that post and keep up to date as a continuing documentation of have and want?

I vote to just do it through posting as well. I don't like the google doc myself, so I haven't used it

I believe the default for searching is to look at the last thread posted first and go backwards in time. My suggestion would be to just repost your list whenever you have an update, and everyone just needs to do their best to keep their list current, either by editing their last post or posting a new list.
