Im just hoping someone can point me in the right direction, as to what files to use to flash my x800GTO.

Core is R430, not sure about what brand it is, anything i can use to see who made it?

memory is: Samsung K4J55323QF-GC20 8MX32 DDR3 500MHz uBGA 144 M28

Fuses seem to be right with the F where its supposed to be.

It is VIVO BIOS. That's why (I don't know what card you have AGP or PCI-E) flash it with just moded to 16 pipes BIOS.
Use atiflash in DOS mode with the following command line:

atiflash -f -p -newbios 0 x80gto16.bin

This BIOS is your BIOS moded to 16 pipes. Try the max. core/memory clocks with ATITool just to check for R480 but after unlocking to 16 pipes.

Is it unlockable to 16 pipes?
If it is ,please help me with some automated flash utility ,like Dolf`s tool.

I just bought one of the blue SAPPHIRE X800GTOs from Newegg. It came with the R480 core and one of the first things I did was flash it to unlock all 16 pipelines. Now it overheats and causes the computer to crash just running the ATITool's 3d renderer for a few minutes. I watched the temperature and it reached 88C before the picture became corrupt and the computer hard locked. Even at idle it it sits at 58C.

Is this card defective or is the stock cooler really that bad? I was going to try and reflash it back to 12 pipes but I forgot to make a backup of the original bios. I used the bios16.zip file in this thread to flash it. Should I RMA this and see if I get a better one or should I just buy a cooler for it?

The stock cooler is really that bad... how's your case airflow?

I would buy a new cooler for it... it's a great card for a cheap price.

I have that same exact card and it is unlockable. I've already flashed it and got the 16 pipes. But the stock cooling does suck! You'd be lucky to even run any games on it without unlocking the 16 pipes or overclocking. I ordered a new Cooler for it and hopefully that should fix the problem.

I don't think they laser cut R430's. What brand X800gto is it? Almost all red sapphire AGP R430s have been able to unlock... if yours is a sapphire, this is one of those rare cases where it can't be.

Assuming yours is a sapphire, if you just bought, I would try to get an RMA and get another. Chances are it will unlock.

Your fuse data doesn't match... I don't think it's the laser cut fuse data either...

In order to check you have to take your cooler off and look at the core die. It's in one of the corners.

you know ,it`s a strange board,don`t know what brand is.i bought it from ebay as x800 gto , i found now it`s a vivo also ,it has that `rage theatre`.
into an other post somebody said it`s a
x800 xl vivo ,i think it is true - but seems unlockable from fuses.
After some research based on the way it looks i can guess is a powercolor x800 xl vivo agp with different cooling sistem.
another guy from my country also bought this card from ebay - his card is unlockable.

if i flash it with the same bios he did what the worse could happend?

I have read thru this thread, and bought a x800gto blue card from newegg; it seems to have all the pipelines, but is locked at 12 in the bios, going from the info here.

Which bios should I use to get the pipelines; I'm planning a mild overclock, and am upgrading the cooling. it has 1.6nS memory; I haven't pulled the heatsink, so I'm not sure which chip it is.

stock clocking is 400/490.

the atitool info is:

config die fuses 0xFFFFFFFF
config substrate fuses 0xFFFFFF9F
config rom fuses 0x261
GB pipe select 0x2724

What do you guys think?

In ATI Tool, you can check and see what chip you have.

You can unlock your extra pipes.

Already there...

I downloaded the bios update boot cd, and loaded the unlock bios; no issues whatsoever.

I'm currently seeing what the fastest stable clock speeds are, and will probably use the 500/550 bios, if its stable at those speeds.

I'm putting this in my athlon m 2500 based system, which is running over 3GHz actual clock speed; not a bad overclock for a 1.8G chip...

This is definately the best deal I've ever gotten on a video card!
$130 from newegg; the card that matches the specs I'm running at is more than double that.

I'm adding a better heatsink, and cooling the RAM and bridge chip with glue on heatsinks;

Does anyone know what kind of heatsink compound is on the stock cooler? I may pull it off, and redo it with artic silver, until I get my new one...

I wouldn't waste time re applying AS to the stock heatsink... just wait for your new one to come.

Stock heatsink finish is awful...

I took the heatsink off, lapped the cast copper to a mirror finish, put AS5 on it, glued heatsinks to all the memory chips with thermal epoxy, and it rocks pretty well. Two of the memory chips are under the stock HS, so I made copper spacers to couple them to the main HS...didn't glue them to the chips, but did to the HS...used AS5 between the chips and spacers.

My max temperature is running 72C/40C now, at 500/500, a little bit higher in FEAR...

The stock cooler had globs of an AS looking paste on it, which is bad; but even worse, there is a rubber standoff that is poorly placed, and was keeping the HS from seating fully; I moved it so the HS sits flat on the chip, and it cools much better.

This is a 680 chip, for sure, it looks just like the pic in the howto Dolf posted; every detail is the same. Thanks Dolf, for the howto, and disks!

My 7800GTX in my main system has better performance, but not 6x, the difference in cost.

I wonder how two of the pci express cards would do in crossfire mode? Are they also moddable?

I took off the HS and i don`t see any laser cut ,you were right about this.

I mod an old duron HS and i replace the orig with it,i lost two PCI slots but now it works super! 32 degrees on iddle at stock speeds , 38 celsius at 450/515 , and never exceeds 65
at full load.

Couldn't post this earlier as I didn't have access to the computer with the card.

Anyway, Core max is 430. Ran for hours with no artifacts.
Memory went up to 510 before crashing the computer...

Still having the thing unlocked to 16 pipes is awesome, so thanks again Dolf!
