In order to help me I know you will need to know some information

I do have the Sapphire x800 GTO .. atm I am at 12 pipe lines and a OC using Trixx too 400 VPU Clock and a 490 Memory AGP 8x.

Now what I am trying to do is unlock to 16 pipelines (if possible, hopefully it is), and dont know where to start, Looking for some help here. What do you guys need from me inorder for this to happen?

Btw, I did my first successful OC of my system I had a sempron 2500+ and a NFII-400AL mobo, orginally 1.75 ghz, OC'ed now to 2.17 Ghz!!!

I have feeling that you will need my automated flash CD on bootable image for X800GTO AGP (there are more flash utilities but you need exactly that - read the flash intructions file).

Download link: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/332

About the VGA flashing you can read here: http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/vidcard/34

Good luck

help a newb!

Sigh, im so confused on what to do lol... I read the PDF and etc... im pretty sure im sopouse to use the Automated Flash Utility X800GTO AGP R430 (Realto) zip , but inside that one is 3 more files, which one should i use?

Flash_CD_X800GTO_AGP_R430.zip
X800_AGP_R430_Flash_CD_ver.1.zip
X800_AGP_R430_Flash_CD_ver.2.zip

and when i open up the zip, there is no file

Now im sure there is a reason for that, being it a hidden file (bios) , but how do i burn something i cant find? lol

<--- This newbie is confused as hell :banghead:

Then after I do findout which one to use, all i need to do is burn it by burning an image and then part two rebooting with bios set to boot from cd first .. and after that im a little fuzzy .. according to the pdf, im gonig to be given an option? lol im a little confused and lookin for some help!

p.s and Dolf you said something about flashing my VGA, do I need to do two seperate flashes here?

p.s.s , is there a way i can find the bios im on now, so if i f'ed it up i can put a old pci card in and have it detect that, then restart in bios and change it to Init Display First so im able to reinstall this card? ;)

Also I heard I could use a program called WinFlash to bypass going though a bootable flash cd... Would that be better than doing it though the flash/cd? Just wondering

Obviously you didn't read the pdf carefully. Don't try to open the iso because it seems empty. Just burn the image using "burn image" option (don't burn it like data file and adding the image into the compilation). Save your original BIOS, open it with RaBit and see the version. Compare with those in the utilities (they contain different versions of BIOSes for your card and should work - all of them). Just check the picture and be sure that your card is equal (on the back side you should see the Realto chip - the biggest near the AGP slot).

Yes you can use atiflash in Windows but you can't open the pipes from Windows ;) .

Hello Everyone..!! I have a quick question about this Sapphire GX800 GTO Unlock. If for some reason I am unable to unlock and start getting artifacts, will I be able to flash back and get rid of that problem, or am I stuck> I just ordered the GTO today from NewEgg.. I am running an Intel 3.2GHZ P4, Abit AS8 mobo, 2.5GB DDR 2700 Memory, Sata 150 HHD's, Also, I'm running AGP .

I am buying this card spacifically to play BF2 and would like to run "it balls to the wall!" Was this a good choice over the Sapphire X1600 PRO 512MB GDDR2 AGP 4
Specs on the X1600 PRO are :#
Core clock: Overclocked Version - 575MHz
D-SUB: 1
DirectX: DirectX 9
DVI: 1
Memory Interface: 128-bit
OpenGL: OpenGL 2.0
PixelPipelines: 12
TV-Out: HDTV/S-Video/Composite Out
VIVO: No
# Model #: 100158L

Thanks in advance for any suggestion and/or insite on this. You guys ROCK.!!!!

Yeah, if you flash it and start to get artifacts, you can revert back to your original BIOS.

If you bought the red PCB x800gto, then you should have bought the ATI Silencer5 to go along with it for an extra $20. The stock cooling on the x800gto's are not good at all, and limit the overclocking potential of the card a little because it won't cool good enough. If you end up with an R430 core, your overclock won't be good anyways, but if you get an R480 that unlocks, I would definitely buy a new fan an overclock that bad boy.

Hi, I was wondering if you guys could help me with my graphics card... it's a Sapphire x800GTO with a red board, r430 core (bought from newegg).

Here is the screenshot of my fuses:
http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/4338/anticlutchx800gtofusesmz9.jpg

Also, I was just curious about the stock fan... simply put: is it enough to withstand overclocking and the flash? ATI Tool says it's idling at 44C with 418.50 core and 544.50 mem...

Use the automated tool found in the downloads section of this site.

I would recommend getting a different fan for that card, as the stock fan will not keep it cool enough after flashing or with any sort of OC.

Your card will unlock :D . Please tell me what is the colour of the PCB (red or blue)? With that core overclock 491MHz is should be equiped with R480 ;) . You can use that automated flash utility to unlock to 16 pipes: http://www.savefile.com/projects/971168 (the first one which contains the very same BIOS)

After unlocking to 16 pipes test again the max. core/memory and post it here.

If your card has R480 (like it seems) you can also use the other flash utility which contains R480 BIOS for X800GTO with Realto bridge and also overclocked BIOSes: http://www.savefile.com/projects/733218

Success

if by PCP you mean the color of the Cards' board, then it's red, it's exactly like the one in your unlocking guide with PN=1024-CC66-00-SA. and in the ATITool it says "Chip Type = R430". my current idle temp. is 36C and 50C at max load (Overclocked).

Thank you very much for the new bios, i'll try it and post the new results. :respect:

I have corrected the PCP (mistake) to PCB (yes this is the card's board). After you have the overclock results I will mod the device ID for R480 which should give you better performance at same clocks. Also I need your stable overclock in order to prepare overclocked BIOS for you.

sorry, in my previous post i wrote 491 core clock, but it was 441 (it's corrected now) :p.

i flashed the card with the first bios in the bootable CD. it's now 16 pipes :D. but should i use this bios or should i use the X800XL bios (in the same bootable CD) (the last choice in the menu) and what's the difference.

my current Stats are (after unlocking):
on 3DMark 2003
9546 400/490 (Default)
10396 436.91/579.27 (Over clocked)

Idle temp. 35C, and ~52C at max load.

in my previous post that was my stable overclock for 12 Pipelines, now it's 436.91/579.27 with 16 Pipelines. any higher clocks give me artifacts.

This is R430 definitely. You can use X800XL BIOS because in fact your card is XL AGP. Benefit ... just recognition like X800XL. I consider that the beter idea is to use the overclocked BIOS 420/525MHz.
