Sig policy ideas (Quotes)

I was thinking it might be a good idea to limit the number of quote tags in a sig to one, similar to the number of img tags limit. It kind of sucks when someone has 4 or 5 quotes in their sig, it makes their sig take up so much space, and really breaks up the flow of a thread.

Also, why not force all sigs to Size=1? That would also make them take up less space, but still make them perfectly readable. I would think this would be easy to implement, just wrap all sigs automatically in the Size=1 tag, and disable the Size tag in sigs.

Just a few ideas to make the sigs break up the threads a little less, what do you think?

I agree with the quotes one can be annoying seeing so many quotes on the screen. =/

Id say sigs are fine the way they are but then thats just my opinion.

edit: hah, it works. Looks a bit weird in 1080P, cause the spoiler box stretches to fit. Can we change the "spoiler" text?


How about something like with images, where it shrinks it down until you click a thingy to bring it to full size?

I was thinking more like when people post pics, it gets resized automatically - that could do it.

I dont see the point myself I mean its not as if some peoples sigs are taking up half a page, and why dooes it bother you seeing quotes in a sig? the same COULD be said for links, triprift for example (sorry ) you have 5 links in yours, a picture and the chicken thing lol people could find that about as annoying as the quote thing imo its a moot point

Some people have enough crap in their sigs, its 5x the size of their posts.

See the bottom of your post? empty space. Room for a sig, withoug being excessive.

IMO, its a problem when a users sig can become bigger than that space - we have sig pic limits, we just dont have quote limits (quotes take up more space than a single line of text, so 3-4 quotes is far larger than 3-4 lines of text)

Not even using quotes, you can see that this ones fairly large. It takes up more space the most posts on the forum - If he was using quotes, it would be a lot bigger again..

making another post, just to make it clearer:

My sig pic, links, and post, arent even using half the space thats there. Some people with lots of quotes are using much more space - and thats what this is about. reducing the space used by those few users.

DIV is always 100% width. Table divisions are as small as the content allows unless width is set. That is, you use DIV if you want it forever large and tables if you want it to scale to the size of text.


I wants more quotes in my sig. Maybe I should make something that pulls a random good quote from a pool and sticks it in an image. Naw, too much work.
