SKYRIM: How are you planning your character and gameplay style?

I never did blunt or Hand to Hand though, just not my thing.

Same as me.

I might opt for destruction instead of conjuration. In fact I think I'm going to.

Mage, I had left that for the last playthroughs of Oblivion. That is, unless the game forces me through a Mage Boss like in Oblivion (in that place where you go through something like a nice fairy-tale land) and where abruptly you find out you got little choice.

my problem is i tend to take these types of games seriously for about 1 hour and then i spend the rest of my time raging on people.

Interesting how no one is playing 'dead is dead' and not use a gamesave at all.

On the Steam preload there appear 16 achievements which one can use so far.

There are 34 more achievements, but clicking them doesn't work since they're hidden

So here are the first 16:

i get like that after hours of restraint - but then i go crazy, kill a whole town - and then don't save it. next time i play, it never happened

I'm not sure when I will get the game, but when I do I will almost certainly start with a Battlemage like Erocker stated.
It's the first type of character that I create in all RPGs.
Huge swords or maces and destructive magic FTW !!!
I usually play a lawful-good character (save the wymin an chilluns !!) lol

I was thinking about either a Bosmer or Nord dual-wielding ranger (ala D&D 3.5) with a little bit of lockpicking.

(Just for Skyrim I probably would have gone with an Argonian, but I don't like how they can't wear boots.)

I always thought they were a bit lame in ES games.

Me? murder the first innocent i encounter and wait for the Dark Brotherhood to inform me that "They know" >8]

I always try to go the assassin class, i would prolly sacrifice defense and some magicka to focus in stealth, and powerfull dagger/sword attacks, some missile attack is nice too for long range silent killing.

btw, my last old character in oblivion doing some "innovative" killing >8]

I normally play as a male character during the first playthrough then switch to female one on the second (tho i went female assasssin in my first playhtrough in Fallout NV >_> )

My buddy has the game of the year edition of oblivion and made a sleath guy that went completely invisible. He had a spell for it and could walk in front of people and they didn't see him. I thought that was crazy since I'm the battle mage type. I going full sleath if its an option

invisibility broke the instant you attacked or touched something. *stealth* was when you could sneak around and still do things, but with a chance of being detected, based on skill points.

In Oblivion, I always fall back to an archer/mage. Mage for 100% chameleon potion and archer because I can pick them off from a long ways away. I'm always the sneaky sort for some reason in virtually all FPS/TPS games. That combination is the closest you can get in the game to a scout/sniper.

Only a very few enemies (like Umbra) could see through the potion.

Chameleon = invisible even when attacking
Invisible = invisibility broken when attacking

100% Chameleon potions takes a huge pool of magic so I always use a high elf character for it.

Ah,Umbra. I remember pissing her off then letting her chase me up to the imperial city and letting the guards take care of her (it took tons of guards to take her down tho lolz)

I rarely use the invisibility or chameleon in my stealth built since i already have very high sneak abilities that only need to creep on them to go unnoticed.

Btw, this is the first game ever that I preordered to be picked up for a midnight release at Gamestop. This is actually the first physical copy of a game I've purchased in a long time.

I have to say... I'm a moron. I just picked up an optical drive and had it shipped overnight. Slipped my mind that with a retail copy, I need a DVD rom.

simple heavy armor + 2 handed weapons, using light magic to fortify def and magical def just wade in and start chopping people to pieces.

gonna use giant 2 handed hammers to knock peoples heads off or use my giant 2 handed sword to cut them off and watch them roll.

Looks like I'll be doing a little conjuration. Take a peek at "Soul Stealer" and "Oblivion Binding" on the Conjuration perk tree.

Too bad you won't ever be able to raise an army of the undead. (but that's what we have mods for, right?)
