    Should i use

    BIOSTAR TPower I45
    or should i use
    DFI LP LT X48-T2R

    to oc my q9550?

    I have both.

im running raid, so i dont want to lose my raid array, also, with either board, i might go (later, much later actuallY) with a 4870 x2 and a 4870 or just one 4870x2.

Let me know, i want the most oc out of this mofo as possbile.

I prefer DFi, however I've heard of problems with the 4870x2's on them. Honestly, either way with a quad-core you'll probablly get around the same OC. Ok, go with the X48.;) Much sexier board.

If money is no object, or you might do crossfire in the future, get the x48. If you are just wanting to oc your cpu, get the p45, as it will probably reach higher fsb's. Both, however, should obtain the same max clock I would think.

I've always heard the P45 boards OC the cpu's better than the X48's.

It would be nice if you could set up some sample benchmarks! Maybe a e8k vs the Qseries for a FSB showdown!

Sorrryyy. Geez. No I suppose I did not read your post thoroughly. :D My suggestion remains largely the same. P45s are generally capable of higher fsb speeds, so if that's what your craving in your oc that's gonna do it better. Both will hit nearly the same proc speed most likely though, as either should be able to hit the max fsb required when your chip is at it's max multi, 8.5. Whichever plays nicest w/ your memory will likely be the best.

    so p45 eh?

if the biostar will reach a higher stable fsb then i may go with it and give my dad the x48.

Can I ask a question? What are the 8 red jumpers for in the middle of the PCI-e slots(biostar)?....reminds me of the old DFI's and the SLI jumpers.

I say DFI cuz they have been nothing less than monsters for me!

Those jumpers are to enable MANUALLY Crossfire. Biostar decided to cut on the costs of a chip that activates/deactivates Crossfire.
