What was your first game?

Whenever I see Atari make a game nowadays I sometimes just buy it good or bad to support the company. I know its corny but I feel like I owe them that.

The entire Atari console idea was stolen from Magnavox.


First I remember is the original Legend of Zelda on NES. There's some Atari games in there too but they weren't mine.

Good ol Donkey Kong Country for the Snes. I probably have beaten that game 100 times. Its just not the same playing it on an emulator though. I want my super nintendo back, I had such a sweet collection. Why did I have to trade it in!?!

A couple of mine were animal, vegetable, mineral and fruit machine on the amstrad cpc 464, i was only 6 or 7 when i got my first computer so i don't remember too clearly.

First computer i remember using/playing on was an Acorn BBC at kindergarten, i think when i was 3 or 4.

Well as soon as Ralph Baer makes a game and Magnavox stops suing people for his idea Ill be more than happy to support someone else.

However the fact doesn't change that Atari made home gaming mainstream. If only Ralph Baer would have hooked up with them instead :shadedshu

Altered Beast was an excellent game. I used to go down to my local Computer Game shop just to play that game. (i never had a master system)

My favourite oldie games were double dragon and target renegade (same style) used to play 2p mode with a friend for hours. Golden axe was also another favourite, but that was much later.

first FPS was Doom (wasnt it everyones? unless you are a quake man!)

First First person game I played was 3demon, though it didn't involve shooting. I think the first shooter I played was Catacomb 3D. Though before that I played games like space invaders, digger (some PC version of digdug it seems), castle and eventually all those Apogee games, good old times. Back in those days everyone had a collection of copied games but nobody could tell how they got them. Usually some friend of your parents copied them. Specially those boxed with Commodore games, really mysterious

Yeah the 2600 is what really took gaming mainstream. I had the all black one but my friend next door had the "classy" one with the wood trim.

first pc game was probably the best game ive ever owned, star wars: x wing vs tie fighter collectors edition, had a x wing disk and a tie fighter disk and a bonus disk with some training and random missions and a good multiplayer online dogfight

overall i think owning decent games from the off gave me good taste in games, i hate buying average games unless they are less than £20
