Why does my GPU not idle when on facebook

Most of the time when I let my browser idle on facebook the GPU load is around ~15% load, I'm not playing a video and I use adblocker so no ads. My GPU idles fine on other sites, then GPU load is 0%.

i think flash still loads shit dude.

unless you have it set so you have to click on it first.

It's because your GPU is really excited to be displaying a Facebook page!

But seriously, there must be Flash on the page which is triggering this. This is very common with the news feed and the video could easily be some way down so you don't realize it's there.

Turn off hardware acceleration in Flash settings and see what happens. That's where I'd start.

Are you speaking about the integrated intel GPU or 770m?

gtx770m, my laptop does not have optimus.
It's probably flash then, as I can see small squared icons with games on it.

Edit: what does "Turning off hardware acceleration" do exactly on Windows 8.1, does the load go to the CPU then?

Edit: The small squared icons with pictures of games were not flash btw.

Sometimes there is a video but I have turned off autoplay. If I'm on youtube and pause the video the GPU load goes to 0

A little late, but the GPU load in facebook still annoyed me, I finally turned off hardware acceleration in chrome and it did the trick!
