Why does my performance DOUBLE on my dads HDTV?(1920x1080)

When I was useing my HD Tv, I was useig the RBG HD cable, the HD cables people would use before HDMI, some people still argue that it has better picture quality then HDMI, but IONO.

It just might be. Just sound so weird if a card is optimized to a certain resolution. Anyways, will be interesting to see someone do something similar with HD ATI. And HD 2900 series is the only 512bit bus, HD 38x0 are 256bit like the thread starter has.

Well then I stand by what I said first. It must be the HD series cards design and/or architecture or somehting that is allowing it to performe better at higher resolution in HD.

Oh and by the way, I have done this with my HD2900 Pro flashed to an XT, Crysis gameing performnce increased and I was suprised to see that I could take some things that I had on Medium to Very High with still Unbeleivable Frame Rates

guys, it's because hdtv's run at 60Hz, while most of us have our monitors running higher than that. i know i run mine at 75Hz.

Nah, my Refresh rate is at 60Hz on my LCD screen.

Plus I think the only effect that would have on Frame Rates would be if you had V-sync on, where it syncronizes the Monitor with the GPU, thus having the effect of capping your Frame Rates to whatever your Monitors refreshrate is, so having V-sync on with 75hz refresh rate means that your Frames per second will not go higher then 75FPS.
