beside top engine and tracks ferdi need 100% driver with 100% clutch braking difference is very tangible. however with those poor alpha dmg+rate of fire that germen tanks has you never will be able to defend flank alone except you are the only t8 in few t7+mostly t6 battle.

More than that. Just look at the picture below. Crap damage done by me but a beefy Damage upon detecting. Result? A nice stockpile of credits and a bunch of XP. :D

German tanks doesn't really have good alpha, but I personally think their dps is pretty decent when it comes to defending flanks. Coupled with good health pool if you are positioned well its pretty easy to defend against 2 same tier vehicles, more if you are using tough tanks like Tiger P. I find the Russian tanks a bit lacking when it comes to defending: with German tanks you can start shooting the moment you see them, and by the time they reach you the first tank will have little if any health.

British tanks are pretty decent in defending too, but not alone.

I have a problem with Ferdinand: it doesn't seem to have any armour against higher tier opponents.

200mm and it isn't as angled as other German tanks, it's not to much. If you end up not liking the Ferdi, don't bother with the Jagdtiger and the JPE100. Also IMO this are vehicles that greatly benefit from trained crews with 3 skills or more.

I don't think I will end up liking the ferdi due to my playstyle: I like taking the initiative and play offensively. The ferdi severely lack the first one, the second is only possible if you have support. Maybe if i play with friends, but certainly no go if I am playing alone. Tiger II is much better for me, it can do both well.

That is sadly a problem with some players in WOT, if I am in my IS3 and I have a Ferdi in my team who does not wanna just camp but move forward, i stick with him to provide cover, a tier 8 TD should never be anywhere on their own unless they camp near base, a Ferdi and IS3 moving careful forward together behind the main thrust can be devastating, sadly too many players just rush forward and leave TD's on their own forgetting too often that it's a team game.

So far I find the SU-100M1 to be a very fun tank to play. Though it isn't the easiest one to play.

The accuracy of the top gun is always great fun, though the lack of penetration and damage is a bit annoying. It also lacks in gun depression.

Played about 20 battles with the T69.... mixed feelings really, I have it fully loaded with equipment but it does not seem to know what it actually is, it's not fast or manouverable enough to irritate or flank opposition so you are therefore left with either a sniper (read camper :)) which kind of defeats the object or a fire and manouver 3rd wave assault vehicle which is kind of the way i have been playing it with some success. Otherwise of course you just end up in the main push and end up facing off with an E75 which is not advisable! thing is everyone else in your team expect you to be scouting the flanks, they find it hard to appreciate that it only does around 50KM on the flat and is almost as slow as a Lowe uphill.

Having said all that, I am having some fun with it, am keeping it at least for the time being as it looks so damn good! The 4 shot auto cannon is utter crap though with a 24 second reload time giving it around 1000hp damage potential if your lucky per load.

T69 is good for ESL battles. That rubbish gun suddenly is a gem when loaded with gold-ammo. :)

Most Tier 8 guns are good with gold ammo, if you come across the Lorraine at Tier 9 with it's 100mm autoloader and gold ammo be prepared for pain, but if the only way to make a gun useable is to buy gold ammo then it's time for a different tank!

I finally bit the bullet and bought a T34. Now I just need to learn how to play the game better as I feel like I'm still a noob when I get in to T9-10 games.

Yep, just don't spend too much time in open ground, your sides and rear will kill you pretty much every time, where as little will penetrate that turret. ROF is aweful, you may well need to invest in some equipment!

Yeah the ROF has to be slow or it would be just like a T30 with the second gun. In my case I have a T30 with the second gun (which is the T28 Prot.'s final gun), which is essentially a faster-firing T34 with 150hp more. LOL

Not only RoF but aiming time and accuracy too. I remember my T34 before being Premium. What a monster it was.
Anyway for my 4 skillz crew the "new" T34 with BiA, Rammer, EGLD, Snapshot, Smooth Ride is pretty good. :)

With all the extra money I'm making, I did buy a Rammer and a Gun Laying Drive so far. About to get Vertical Stabilizer in about 100k. Also using my T29 crew in it. Not sure how accurate the mod is for the reload timer, but it says about 13 seconds for reloading.

    Seal clubbing. :peace:

Before lapidation I must say that it's my ESL machine and I'm playing it only for daily-doubles in randoms.
It's a killing machine focused on view range and camo.

Premium ammo on a t1 autocannon. xp

You take your seal clubbing serious. Though I guess the 4 skill crew show that as well. :D

Premium ammo is for ESL man. You have no idea how useful I can be if I manage to chip away an AMX 100 from the back. ;)

That crew is retrained from my E4 after I sold it. ESL is a serious business. 2500 free gold twice/month is a nice prize (of course if we're playing in finals). :toast:

Maybe in one scenario, in the other 99 it's a different story, apart from the fact they have the same gun don't they?
