Yesterday I was replacing the motherboard in a client's computer. I hook everything up, fire it up, no boot device. I refire a couple times, then check the BIOS. Bios not recognizing HDD or Optical drive. I curse a couple times, then crack open the case again. Figured out I had one sata cable plugeed from HDD to optical and the other cable with both ends in the motherboard. :shadedshu

sigh..really feel like a fool now.. :(

do any of you guys know how to clean "Power Glue" from LCD screen ? (cyanoacrylate glue or something like that) the kind of glue that instantly bond and quite strong.. i've tried mild soap and alcohol but the glue is still there..try to scrub it gently because if i scrub it hard enough i'm afraid i may scratch the screen

the glue accidentally splash to my Sharp LCD screen when i try to squeeze it from the tube while fixing a toy..now when i look the screen, it like there is somebody sneeze in front my LCD and didnt wipe it..

any idea to help ??

this thread is perfect, we can all come out and admit we have all done amazingly stupid things :)

when I build my first rig I used the HDD screws for the motherboard, which destroyed my motherboard...it was fail.

I did that with my first build and it didn't fail.

my advice would be to try some superglue remover on the corner of your screen (where theirs no picture, as certain glue remover can melt plastic (and you don't want that on your lcd displays polarised plastic ) something to be wary of;)

You know that these DVD cakebox have a clear plastic disc on top of the first DVD disc. Yeah it's what you're thinking, I took the first disc and put it on my dvd writer, funnily enough it took like a minute to fail, when I heard the noise I stopped it, it was all scratched; the DVD disc was ruined but the writer lives on.
