dolf, i have your moded bios ( 16 pipelines) in my card.Still 8 pipelines, laser cut "disabled" and i have still CONFIG_ROM_FUSES= 0x22 . Why???

It is because you are using "normal" flashrom not modified as I have mantioned. Download it from here: http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/vidcard/100

CONNECT THE RIGHT LASER CUT!!!!! (it is important ;) )

When flashing boot in DOS using DOS boot disk with modified flashrom and modded BIOS and backup BIOS on it. Type the following command line: flashrom -f -p 0 (zero not o) biosname.bin press enter and wait until flash process is over. Check with ATITool the number of pipes and fuses.

Good luck

Please tell us the PN of your PCB (top front side of the card).

@Dolf.
I have tried with multimeter (i dont know english word - its electronic device you know) so when i touch left pins without lasercut i see on screen 0,3 mili OHM , but if i connect the right pins with lassercut i should obtain the same 0,3mili OHM but my device shows me 0,0 . Could you tell me if it is connected well this cutted pins it should show me like uncuted pins 0,3 ??? Could anybody checkit??

Please see that: http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/vidcard/100. Your core should have similar laser cut but on the right side (or on both sides). Use conductive glue or lacquer and connect the right bridge (dots). You should measure just some ohms resistance or 0.x ohm. You can also solder wire but in both cases clear the dots with something sharp because they are protected with something like lacquer.

The fuses show that no more pipes are possible for you :shadedshu .

hello there, i got Sapphire x800GTO2 (PCX), it has enabled all16 pipes by defaulf and uses X800XL bios (readed by atitool and checked), atitool shows R430, in bios is written "R480 X800 XL BIOS". Ok so i tried to find max clocks, i got stable GPU/MEM 553/594 (with stock cooler - maybe i will later replace it with arctic ati silencer 5r2). I wanted to flash to different bios, i dont wantet to use 850XT PE cos its timings are pretty on egde on what my card can go, insted i tried to flash to X850XT (520/540 clocks). but after flash (succesfull) the fan does not work (chcescek visualy - its stopped and atitool shows 5%). ok i put back original bios, and the fan works again. Which bios shoud i use to get X850XT and working fan ?? thanks

can't you just use power supplies power connector? (it's a question, not a statement)

Sapphire X800GT AGP, 560/580 very stable ,on the stock cooler. 2.0ns Samsung ram. ATITool calls the core an R420, but I don't know what it is from the actual chip (see pic). Can I unlock 12 pipes on this card?

Hi,
I posted:
IT is an HIS X800 GT (R423)

But now I get off the cooler and..
It is an R480

What do you think about that?

...

Can anybody help me?
Is it the one with the large heatsink and blue fan? If so, I have a bios for it that I've modded to R480 here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=6056 (improves performance for R480 X800 GT cards) If it isn't that card, then post your bios in that thread, please, since I haven't seen a bios for the non-IceQ version yet.

At least one of you post the bios to your Sapphire X800 GTO AGP (if you want to compare bioses, both of you should post it). After posting it, either I or another forum member will mod the bios to 16 pipelines for you.

Oh lazy boy just read something a few pages before!!! We are fighting with this card 1 month. It isn`t enought to connect lassercut. Something more we have to do 4 example resistors under the cooler :) !!! i say it again under the cooler no on the other side of pcb because they are the same.

Lazy, maybe, but not because I didn't feel like reading over 80 pages worth of "can I unlock more pipes on this card?" so after about 15 pages, I skipped to the end. I'll skip back now and see if I can find what you're talking about. I did read that connecting the lasercuts wasn't enough though.

yes, it an option, but than it will alway goes to 100% and that is kinda noisy (and not necessary in 2D)

Ok, so I've read everything that gregor and zapata have posted about their findings with their Sapphire GT's. You said something about a resistor change... Where did you read that? Got a link?

hi,
i need a little help, i just bought a GTO² and in ati tool it says its got 16 active pipelines even though i havent flashed the bios. also it has two dvi out ports, i thought it had one?. the ati tool stats are in the attachments. it also says i have the R340 chip, but i know it has the R480 chip as i saw it when i was putting better coolent paste on it. i have been OCing it without flasing the bios as it says i have 16 pipelines. when stock i got 4914 in 3dmark05 an when OCed i got 5802. the core clock is running at 453mhz and the memory clock at 588mhz, would flasing the bios show the R480 chip and allow higher clock speeds and better performance?

and may i dare ask, whats the easiest and safest way of flashing the bios, i know theres a bid fo threat on it but i dont have the time to read it all:eek:
