hi, i'd like to know if my card could be modded.
here are the details
connect3d ati x800gto 256mb ddr3
currently running at default core and mem speed of 400/490
active pipeline=12
PCI-E
the card is colored red
thx lots!!!
ps: could u help me by telling me wat to do step by step for the modding. cos this is my first time doing it so u can pretty much say im a newbie.
0XEFF3DFFF
0xFFFFFFFE
Here are my Sapphire X800GTO 256MB PCI-E card's details.
ATITool found maximum memory clocks as 563MHz.
ATITool kept on increasing core frequency and at 542.5MHz, PC got stuck. 520MHz should be fine though.
Will I be able to unlock the remaining 4 pipelines? If so, how would I go on doing that?
I have integrated video (Intel 965G). Will be able to revert to the original BIOS if the video card becomes DEAD because of incompatible or wrongful BIOS flash?
Thanks for your input.

Your card will unlock to 16 pipes . If you have 1xVGA and 1xDVI you can use my speciall moded X850XT BIOS for 1xVGA / 1xDVI (I have 2 versions - for VIVO and non VIVO). Just save your original BIOS and before to flash read the respective flash instructions files.
Download links:
For VIVO card: http://savefile.com/projects/482201
For non VIVO card: http://savefile.com/projects/841504
After the flash procedure reinstall your drivers.
Don't forget to inform us for the results after the flash. It is possible to have lower overclock (core / memory) and insufficient cooling capacity - probably new cooler will be needed.
Success
Yippie it worked. Ran 3DMark06 and the scores at 12p and 490/573 are almost equal to 16p and 400/490, the latter still having a higher score. Just started to find the max clocks. Hopefully it will reach the previous speeds without any more temperature increases.
Thanks a lot dolf
P.S.
I ran Sapphire's TRIXX's tests and the maximum safe clocks (at 100% fan speed) it found were a lot less than previous.

My card is red. It came with a packaging similar to Fireblade edition, but with red cover colour instead of blue (same as the video card's PCB colour).
It doesn't have an external power connector.
I don't wanna try X850XT BIOS. I think I can manually overclock higher. TRIXX doesn't find the highest clocks at which the card doesn't artifact, but the highest clocks which don't make the temperature go beyond some value, at 100% fan speed.
I didn't try ATITool to find the max clocks (yet)
BTW, could the BIOS you gave have tighter RAM timings? Mine is rated at 500MHz only. Checked it at Samsung's wesbite.

Reached 520MHz on core. ATITool tried to go further, but I stopped. I should be more than happy with this performance. Besides, I know it can't go beyond 540MHz, so why should I give a damn about that 20MHz.
Anyway, it doesn't look as if 540MHz on memory is stable in ATITool. This is not what we expected right? Lower overclock on core can be justified, but memory? Seems like RAM timings are different (tighter to be precise). Can you upload the bin file of the BIOS you gave me, so that I can compare the orignial X800GTO timings and the ones in the BIOS you gave me? Unless of course you do that for me It's the non-VIVO edition btw.

OK I will do it but it is also good idea to post your original BIOS for me to. If you would like to make one effort for me please flash the X850XT non VIVO BIOS (520/540MHz) and test your card with it. I would like to know how it performs on card without external power supply.
And don't worry about running R480 with 520MHz because it is designed for optimal 540MHz but some times can reach up to 600MHz and more. The limit of that card could be the power supply circuit (the same like on X800XT PE with only 6 MOSFETs). X850XT / PE has 8 MOSFETs. If you want more MHz and Vmod/s it is good idea to cool the MOSFETs or even to add few elements (few transistors, 2 MOSFETs and few resistors) and to start the external power supply. Of course I would do that because I know what to do but you probably don't need that and should ignore my advice

Here you are the BIOSes (also with 16 pipes).
Hi all, is my card unlockable to 12 or 16 pipelines? My card is a PowerColor X800GT with an R480 core at stock speeds. I flashed my bios with ShadowFlare's bios.
This is my readings from ATITool
but why cant it be unlocked to 16 pipelines by hardmod? i thought all that is needed is bridging the laser cuts?
Saphire x800gto AGP blue pcb
R480 core, samsung 1.6
well I finally got around to flashing my bios from Dolfs boot cd
got 16 pipes and 520/540 overclocked bios.
I also installed the Zalman 900 series cooler and temps are:
39c gpu ,57c load
(51c before; stock timings. it hit 90c doing a core speed test)
36c card 48c load
(42c before; stock timings)
it ran 520/560 with ati tool with the 12 pipes no problems but heat with the stock cooling
so whats next? lol
can I change the bios to x850pe or should i leave it alone and overclock with atitool?

Find the max. core/memory with 16 pipes and the Zalmann and post them there. Also I need to know howyour card is recognized after the flashing of the OC BIOS. I can add (to the flash utility) also 540/590MHz BIOS which should bring you almost the same performance like X850XT PE.
A quick question for you Dolf.... i would be flashing my x800 pro vivo AGP with 1.6ns RAM(which is already flashed with 16P BIOS) with x800xt BIOS with help of your Booting CD.
I would like to know, the type of RAM for x800xt BIOS supplied with the CD, i mean is it for 2.0ns RAM cards or 1.6ns RAM cards.
