Oh, just to point it out:

The 8800GT throttles at 100°C - nvidia MIGHT have a reason for this ;) this makes 80-90°C look pretty damn hot.

u dont know anything with temps and just talk here

i was using my 8800gts at 648/1620/1044 mhz full stabil at summer @89 C

than i make some improvements at my cooling system

temps never exceeded 69 C

but nothing changed

since the vcore trouble shot down temp is 110 C

um i think he might know something about temps...because no matter who you are you should know 110ºC is rediculously hot and your stuff will burn out in like 3 weeks.

there is a lack o Voltage in this G92 core...with only 1.1Vgpu you must wish to get a high speed-binned core...
from my experience improving the cooling wont help a lot....BUT,increasing the Vgpu will give you the best boost....
with water i managed to run 3dmark06 at 802/1944/1018.....

Voltage 4 is your 3D Vgpu.
0.95V Vmem - 1V Vgpu 2D - 1.05V Vgpu 3D low i guess - 1.1V Vgpu 3D..

the timings are the same..

you cannot add voltage with softmod...the GT has got fixed resistors...
only with trimmers you can do it..

I see you are adding voltage by soft mod

No, actually 1.05V is 2D mode, the card apparently gets the full 1.1V for 3D mode. For anyone who wants to void their warranty I have found a voltmod (courtesy of our friends in Xtremesystems)for the 8800GT, there is also a pencil mod for the memory which should give some more speed, for any pencil mod beginners....the pencil mod (2B pencil recommended)can be easily reversed with some normal cleaning fluid used for CPU cleanup and a cotton wool bud, you can try the pencil for the VGPU but it's unlikely to work as the resistance is already set so low, that will need the soldering iron, it looks a little too "busy" for conductive ink.

As always, aftermarket cooling is advised, dont waste a perfectly good card by ignoring that! Indications in the thread are that the GPU could take 1.4V!!!! If I get one of these cards I personally wont risk beyond 1.2V which is easy enough if you use a variable resistor but if you are using a fixed one (meaning the increased voltage will be running 24/7 as opposed to being able to increase or decrease when needed on a variable) than you need to calculate the resistor required, I can help anyone with that that is a novice to the soldering iron. :)

I am of course not suggesting anyone do this, I meerly post for information.

Damn just read the full thread that I posted above......cores near 900Mhz and shader clocks exceeding 2000Mhz
