I want to upgrade my pc but I dont know what I want to upgrade all I know is RAM and Graphics cards for now. Anything else? I like liquid cooling but its too expensive and I think air cooling is just great and I don't think I should bother right now. Anyways, is there anything I need?

Q6600(will overclock once I get better RAM) Xigmatek Dark Knight CPU cooler
3GB ddr2 800 (trying to get ddr2 1066)
300 GB
BFG 8800GTS OC(upgrading to 2 4850x2's)
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music
650W Corsair PSU

USB accessories! Those single 12oz can coolers and pole dancers are the best!

speakers, and another hard drive for raid. You will be all set then. Like music look at the z5500s

I have speakers they're connected to my ps3 atm and I bought a pair of 5.1/7.1 headphones harddrive I may go for a WD raptor a hardrive with 10 rpm would be nice

wouldnt worry too much about ddr1066 over ddr 800

is that hdd IDE or SATA1 if they are try getting a SATA2 hdd

Depends on your budget... I would go with more storage and maybe decent surrond sound speakers

thought his first post said raptor 300gb?

Needs a new video card. Two 4850X2's does sound bad ass but a little too much. Why not just a single 4870X2?

I think its sata1, but I know nothing about raiding and what its purpose is

I want to get single 4870x2 but so expensive I guess I can try. I like to kill my friends soon to be 2 GTX280's I thought 2 4850x2's would kill it

oh ok then I guess more ddr2 800 would be nice

DDR2 1066 is still fairly cheap. if u can afford it why not? saying that there are a few DDR2 800 kits out there that will do 1066. I doubt the 1066 will cost that much more then 800.

If i was to prioritise a component for an upgrade...Id suggest getting rid of that 8800GTS 640 & getting a Ati 4870/4890 or Nvidia 275-295. that 8800GTS 640 cant be doing very well for the native res on that monitor of yours. even if u get to heavy clocks on it, it will still struggle unless all you play is MMORPGs then it doesnt matter.

Ram is the next on the list that needs to be upgraded.

everything else seems ok for the time being.

In that case get the two 4850X2's then. Two 280's will beat a single 4870X2. Grab a newer 45nm CPU too, like a Q9650 and clock it to 4-4.6ghz, he won't beat that!

eh he's buyin a cyberpower pc ddr3 6gb of ram and water cooled and a i7 920 I think. but I was looking at buying the cards first then getting ram then a new cpu maybe an quad extreme, but I hear most intel quads still beat i7's. in a way I dont care about if it beats his or not I just want to be able to have a pc on par that way I know its good

HOLY CRAP THANKS THIS IS NEXT ON MY LIST!!!

wow never see someone tell someone to throw 3 gig of ddr2 800 away and buy 1066, I got ddr2 800 that does better than the 1066, dont believe everything you hear about higher ram. ALLEN

i throw that because as it has low latencies it means also it can reach high frequencies, if you want even cheaper 8gb, get 2 of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184 or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227290

Get an external HDD to back up everything!

If that was directed at me - last i checked. his 3Gb of DDR2 800 aint exactly what i would call a 'matched' set of ram (check his spec tab) Im not saying that DDR2 800 doesnt do well Im saying it because he most possibly has 'random' DDR2 800 kits put it hell I was running with 2x512 OCZ Platinums & 2x512 Corsair XL's back in the day but they were still 2-2-2-5

who knows if the ram he has is made by the same manufaturer, runs at the same timings as each other & not from the 'value' side of the scale hey???

as always - try your hand at overclocking value ram but if it dont wanna run at all & you got money for proper enthusiast kits then go splash the cash. -DDR2 800 OR 1066 if you wish. according to your own budget.

also id like to point out its still better to run 2xmodules instead of 4x (On NON i7 systems) if you are gonna be doing some overclocking - which he says he will be

Quad Xfire is useless...... would go tri-fire, it'll yield almost the same performance.\\

Wait for 4890x2 :) or just get 2 4890 in Xfire...

8 gb is a waste... get these and your fine!

Then save the rest of your cash... You can get an ass whooping i7 system after that! and Watercooling... Because it seems your budget is big ;)
